About

Real-time monitoring and alarming of measured rain using rain gauges to alert or trigger operations staff of specific flooding or sewer overflow potential. Monitoring and analyzing the rainfall amounts in various locations to assess the amount of rain in other non-monitored locations also referred to as the “Distributed Rainfall Modelling Technique” (DRMT). Analysis of rainfall radar data in combination with rain gauge rainfall data to produce improved rainfall coverage maps. Analysis of recent rainfall records to develop rainfall intensity-duration curves for comparing with the area’s design intensity-duration-frequency curves and define the return periods of observed events (forensic analysis). Develop new intensity-duration-frequency curves for designing drainage system infrastructure (sewers, channels, storage facilities). Flow monitoring and data analysis to develop rainfall versus stormwater runoff response curves for calibrating drainage system models.

About

GeoHECHMS greatly speeds up the creation, analysis, and review of stormwater models. It is a data wrapper to the industry-standard US Army Corps of Engineers HEC-HMS software using an AutoCAD compatible graphical user interface. GeoHECHMS offers: • Automated HEC-HMS Workflows • AutoCAD Civil 3D & ArcGIS Integration • Automated Watershed Delineation • Detention Pond Design • Purpose-Built Stormwater Design Tools • Automated TOC & Lag Time • Automated CN Computations • Comprehensive Report Generation GeoHECHMS lets you quickly compare different scenarios and alternatives, such as pre-development conditions with different post-development designs. Rapidly construct, design, analyze and compare detention and retention ponds.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • GeoHECHMS has automated almost every workflow needed to pull together the base information for the designs. It dramatically reduces the time needed to build the models while not decreasing the model's accuracy. In particular, I appreciate the automation of the TOC calculations, which help identify the longest flow path within the watershed. They have an exceptional support staff that makes stormwater modeling a cakewalk.

Cons

  • I have been using GeoHECHMS for about 7 months now and I cannot say that I have ever found anything that left me wanting.
