Pros & Cons from Real Users Pros Not many as the product doesn’t work and you waste your time trying to find fixes for the problems that you encounter. You can develop almost anything in Alpha Anywhere from complex, enterprise-strength, multi-language cloud-hosted web applications to mobile apps, APIs, web services and everything in-between. The developers are very responsive to feature suggestions and bug reports. They are also really nice people to deal with - an important (and often overlooked!) factor when choosing a software development partner. The Alpha Anywhere framework exposes almost unlimited opportunities to get "under the hood" and code as much as you like (or as little as you like). Most Internet standards and languages are respected and available. You can develop applications which look they have been coded by hand, with virtually no coding actually needed. You can also use the built-in features, templates and genies (wizards) to quickly prototype and test out ideas for software. Even deploying and sharing the results with clients is easy, once you understand the basic Alpha principles. That we can create apps for web, iOS and Android all from the same platform using one code base. A user can make significant progress on an app within a very short amount of time in comparison to other platforms. I have used Alpha software products for 30 years. There is no other company as responsive to feature requests. Strong security mechanism; robust features; we haven't found any task it can't handle; powerful data exchange tools; works well on all devices; builds powerful, device friendly 'apps' that don't require download from the app store, though you can integrate and sell through the app store, too. Cons Don’t waste your money on Alpha Anywhere. Features they say work doesn’t work and they always try to blame you the client because it doesn’t work. You are better off hiring someone to build your front end for you in a native coding language! The flip side to being so responsive is that the product is rarely "stable". We would actually prefer fewer updates for a more consistent and reliable approach to public builds. We are a growing, multinational software company and it isn't always easy to find new Alpha Anywhere developers to bring into the team. Instead, we now look for staff and contractors with good web dev skills (JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SQL) and then add the Alpha Anywhere special sauce to their skillset ourselves. Applying styling to things could be a little bit better. The styling and CSS could use some improvement, especially if you want to style anything other than straight out of the box. Takes a little effort to optimize page loading, but not that hard.	Pros & Cons from Real Users Pros Cross-device compatibility, ease of use, ability to customize the app to our exact requirements and extremely fast turn around time at all points in the process. TransForm is fast and it is easy to set up new forms. You can build simple data capture screens or really complex ones - including those with hierarchical data. Photos & videos are easily integrated as well as mapping and signature capture. The built-in programming language makes it a powerful tool which can be customised to create "mini-apps". Can be integrated into existing databases and systems. Support is excellent. The system has superior offline performance and capabilities. When you build out the system using this product, you do not have to worry about offline data collection. Without the pain of creating a custom app. The ability to create forms for field data collection in a matter of minutes is remarkable. We also have customers in the same industry collecting essentially the same data, but the flow of the collection process in the field is different for each company. With Alpha TransForm we can customize each form to fit the needs of the customer in a very short time. Adding new data collection fields is quick and easy. Being able to connect to our MS SqlServer database along with numerous 3rd Party software connections has opened the door to improving while customizing client needs. We have tried other options for doing the same thing, but nothing we found compared to Alpha Transform. Fully disconnected, high quality photographs, customizable, and fast made this product a slam dunk for our business. Plus, when coupled with the power of Alpha Software, there is no limit in the power of the system all the while not requiring advanced programming or coding expertise. But if you have that expertise, then you can go as far as your imagination will take you. Customer support is excellent and responsive. Cons Because the software is SO capable/robust, had a hard time knowing exactly how to build the perfect product. Of course the answer is: the first build is never exactly what you want so you work and tweak until it’s perfect. Each change to our app has made it better and more bullet proof - wonderful experience and attentive coders to help with the process. Like all (powerful) tools, there is a learning curve. User interface builder is different from drag/drop. Once you understand that it uses a different system to create the interface, you can develop fairly quickly. Initially we did have some issues with uploading files with a larger number of photographs (>12). The Alpha team worked through this and made adjustments that has been fully proven in the field by our team.
