You can also try putting this code near the top of that file: ini_set('display_errors', '1'); error_reporting(E_ALL); And make sure to scroll down to the bottom of the page to see if errors are being listed on screen.
Without seeing an error message for this page, there isn't much we can do. I gave you some code to insert at the place where you said the error was showing in your logs, but as mentioned before, that place shouldn't have anything to do with the address book. You can insert such code at the top of src/addressbook.php and move it down step by step until you get the blank page at which point you've found the errant line/call. You might also try a vanilla installation of SquirrelMail with no customizaions...

Just to clarify, yes, a newer version should fix this. Your patch also seems to not be for SquirrelMail, but for the login_auth plugin (although you don't state that specifically) and it removes login functionality with literals which are specifically more well suited for things like non-ASCII passwords -- this leads me to believe your system is doing something odd or your stored passwords are not in the format you think they are. Note you can also use SASL PLAIN authentication which could help you...
Thanks for addressing this issue. When do you plan to release the stable 1.5.x version?

Thanks, I've updated that file as well
Fix PHP notice when property doesn't exist
Add contrib directory
IMAPproxy connection cleanup
Thanks again for your contribution. Upon further review, it looks like indeed that similar problems were already addressed in a newer version of the code than you had at the time. If you find otherwise (please test against version 1.2.8+), we'd love to know. I have added these patches into the /contrib directory so this proposed solution isn't lost.
imap-proxy AUTHENTICATE PLAIN
Thank you for this - it has been added. It's ok to send patches here, but notifications don't always work, so feel free to ping us through mailing lists or directly.

Don't store username / password in session cookie
Thanks for your contribution and I'm sorry that notification didn't go out when you submitted this so it could be addressed right away. Your patch doesn't put anything into the environment which also gets reset with every page request, so I have to assume that your external authentication mechanism populates the username and password into the PHP environment automatically. That isn't something we can hard code because it's specific to your implementation -- but what I did do was provide configuration...
Add round border and glow to default stylesheet
Thank you for this suggestion, and sorry we didn't see it much earlier. Modern browsers have this feature built-in, so I'm not adding it, but I believe you can always add any CSS you want by adding nothing more than a custom CSS file

Hello and thanks for reporting this, and I'm sorry notification for this bug didn't seem to work, so this was overlooked. If you are still experiencing this issue, please respond and we can debug the issue together.
Autoresponder is showing two email address to the recipient of the response email
Sorry we didn't respond earlier, but this is unrelated to SquirrelMail. This is a feature specific to Bluehost and not a part of our software, so you'll have to talk to them about the issue.

squirrelmail-20200812_0200-SVN.stable - PHP warning non numeric value in date.php line 90
Can you indicate what timezone you are using? This seems to indicate a timezone that is not accounted for, so I'd like to add that to our code instead of obscuring the genesis of the issue. If you don't know for certain what the internal value of the timezone is, just go into date.php and at the top of the function getGMTSeconds() do something like this: echo "<hr />"; var_dump($tzc); echo "<hr />"; Make sure to do that at the top of the function. Thanks for using SquirrelMail

Multiple attachments
There is a plugin called "Multiple Attachments" that allows adding more than one file at a time (per page request), but the actual file dialog selection is still one at a time -- changing that would be more involved and may or may not be worth the effort.

Mark As Read _and_ Delete
There is a plugin called "Preserve Checkboxes" that retains the checked messages across many page requests as in this case. It reduces this action from 4 clicks and 2 page requests to 3 clicks/2 page requests, but I just added a "Mark deleted messages as read" option in Options --> Folder Preferences that adds the requested functionality
Might want to add the same fix to Deliver_SMTP.class.php's dsn check.

Not sure if you're still trying to make this work, but there is no browser-specific code path for how sessions and cookies are handled. Rather, there is probably something happening with the cookies (directory path they are assigned or the likes). If you are debugging, I'd step through the cookie code in functions/global.php and spit out $_COOKIE across the good and bad page requests and go from there. I've tried Chromium myself and it worked normally.
If you're still able to test, I'm interested if those browsers still have the same cookie inconsistency.

Thanks for reporting these issues-- The first problem was triggered only when "Return To Message List After Move" was turned off. That has been fixed in SVN and will appear in the next daily code tarball. The second issue was probably from when you were sending a message (it's helpful if you explain exactly how to reproduce). I've committed a fix for that issue as well.
