Then tried Java 8, and thankfully JaFL seems to run fine on 8 (only went straight back to 5 before as that's the latest version you mention on the JaFL site). Sounds like 7 was the big danger so less worried now.

Still doesn't feel ideal to have Java installed at all though.

Never used it before, but maybe I can install Java in Sandboxie and run JaFL from within that? I'll give it a go.

#12 Java 9 issue

btw, is running Java 5 any kind of security threat?
I don't think I had java RE installed at all before trying to use JaFL, so I assume my browsers (Chrome and Firefox) use their own plugins and aren't affected by the version I have installed?

So does that mean it's fine?

Or should I try installing Java 9 as well as 5, or something like that?

Possessions don't display properly. Immediately you don't have the usual dashes for empty slots, and then when you get new items you can't see them in the list. They are actually there, but each squished into a tiny line with no visible text. You can scroll through items and empty slots with arrow key and see the thin blue line moving up and down, and see thin green lines for equipped items, and if you're careful even right click to interact with items, but basically it's unusable.

Solved by installing Java 5 instead. Glad I thought to try downgrading!

#11 galleon can be sold at higher price than bought at

cities of metriciens and ringhorn are affected, others possible.

galleon can be sold at higher price than bought at

book 2, section 10
