Hello,
I'm not sure this is a bug or my incompetence. I was unable to display my opening repertoire correctly in ChessX. It's a collection of annotated games in a pgn file, in French, with many accented letters that are replaced with ô é, making the program unnusable, sadly.
I tried changing the language to French in Windows (10) regional settings "for non-Unicode programs" but it didn't fix the issue.

PGN is defined as ASCII thus there should be no accented letters in the notation. Have you tried loading the files as Unicode files? (Option in the file menu or the database list view)

There is indeed an issue I will address in the next bugfix release. The codec for writing output was not properly set.

      Hello,
I've installed 1.6, this isn't fixed on my end.
Accents are displayed fine on other apps such as Scid vs PC and Chessbase, using the same pgn file.
