Hello, I try to build a DCP3 For the moment I work on a bread board. And I have an issu with the DHT11. It wired on pin 4. I have an Oled screen too (oled work) But I have a DHTxx error (some times I have temperature and humidity, not often) I try with the TestDHT.ino (changing DHT22 to 11) It doesn't work. I also try with an another lib with a test code. And this time I have humidity and temperature. My wiring seems good. Have you a way to give message ? Because I'm stuck. Best regards
I got some Errors with my OLED display here. It seems the screen is rotated some pixels to the left. You will see a dirty line on the right side of the display and on the left there are some pixels missing. You have a SH1106 OLED! They are working a little bit different. In "displays.h" change myoled.begin(&Adafruit128x64, I2C_ADDRESS); to myoled.begin(&SH1106_128x64, I2C_ADDRESS); and it's solved! Greetings, and thanks for this nice project!
I jave taken a look at them. The ones I saw have a USB connector. You would have to cut that off and fit a differnt connector compatible with the project. The current specifications for the straps look a bit higher than dew not straps, but since the dew controller uses PWM it should be ok. AS LONG AS - this is important, do NOT use the 100% override with the Svbony straps Regards robert
Hi, Would be the 12V Svbony Dew Heaters compatible ? Thank you
Hi A very big thanks to chemistorge for the development of an INDI driver for both the myDewControllerPro and myDCP4ESP32. More Info here. https://sourceforge.net/p/arduinonanodewcontrollerpro/discussion/general/thread/a9f9015909/ I have added the INDI screenshots into the PDF. regards Robert
Hi, The driver for Indi been included with indiLib now. So it should avaiable with indi server and Kstars/ekos on update. Update: The driver will available from source (https://github.com/indilib/indi) or via the ppa nightly builds (https://www.indilib.org/download.html) and eventually in the next stable build on 31st March.

HI Robert, I have submitted the pull request, but have got stuck at creating the driver listing on indilib.org. I can add a listing with basic detail, but cannot add any details. I am trying to contact indi for help. I have attached the screenshots of the driver tabs in Ekos
Hi please let me know when done, if I can, I would like to add something in the PDF acknowledging your efforts, any screencaps available? Once again, many many thanks and I am sure that there are many others who feel the same way Regards Robert
Hi brownrb I have used both your myfocuserPro and myDewControllerPro projects, which are amazing thank you. I could find an indi driver for the focuser but not the dew controller. I have therefore wrote one that supports version 340+ for the three channel controller. I am about to submit a pull request to include in the main repository of indi. I hope this is OK. Regards chemistorge

Is there anyway to edit the Windows software as I've used a few of the left over Arduino pins for some other functions and would be great to implement it all into the native application, instead of completely redesigning it. Thank you, Dave
Hi Tim I have not kept up with Celestron offerings to date. However, there is nothing stopping users to write code to use a thermistor instead of the ds18b29 probe. I do not know what a "true" thermistor is. But I am familiar with thermistor data sheets etc and have used them with various boards etc. Most data sheets have an RT table, for deriving the temperature from the measured resistive value of the thermistor, or by applying the Steinhart-Hart Thermistor Equation to derive the temperature. For...
Hi I recently bought a C11 Edge HD 2nd hand. It came with the dew heater ring. I understand that I can use the controller to power the dew heater but is there any way of using the thermistor it comes with. A friend of mine is actually writing software for the very expensive Celestron controller and he says that it's a true thermistor. He writes that "I've got a ring and a stand alone thermistor supplied by them, it's resistance is about 11k at room temperature (20C) decreasing as the temperature...
Hi Adrian An interesting question, but one I cannot answer. I have never owned a Newtonian, so I cannot really offer any advice for this. It is my hope thatsomeone who knows will assist you. Regards Robert
What is the best strategy for controlling Newtonian secondary mirror heaters? Mine is the shaped PCB type that fixes directly to the rear of the mirror cell and there isn't much room for a temperature probe, at least not the big ungainly waterproof DS18B20. I could possibly fit aTO-92 style DS18B20 to the side of the cell opposite the PCB. Or do people tend to just run secondary mirror heaters on channel 3, either slaved to something else like the dew heater or in manual mode at an experimentally...

Hi Dan 12V of course is required for the dew straps, looking at the circuit 12V in goes to Diode D2, which has a forward voltage of around 1.x volts That gives let us round things a bit, a little less that 11V going in to the regulator So the regulator has around 11V going in to drop to 8v going out to the VIN pin of the arduino. Basic rule of thumb for regulators is that the input voltage must be around 1.5v higher than the output of the regulator in order for the regulator to work) If the output...

I was unpleasantly surprised at the prices (and limited capabilities) of commercially-available dew controllers, and was already gathering parts for your focuser design, so this looks like another project for my list. But I'm confused about one thing--why is the circuit using a LM7808 to feed +8V into the Arduino, just for it to regulate it down to +5V and then serve as the source for all the other +5V loads? It seems to me (not an EE, nor do I play one on TV) that it would make more sense to use...
Yes, thanks Howard, you are correct. I will update things, R
Hi Robert, Just finished off configuring and testing my build of this amazing project of yours. I believe there is a bug in firmware-339 files 'switches.h' line 88. // From ch1override = OFF; // To ch1override = ON; With the code set to OFF override ch1 doesnt work until ch2 is set to override via the external switches. Regards Howard
Thank you Robert! That did the trick. BTW here is the finished project for you to check out. Hi Robert, Thank you very much for developing myDewController. I've had a lot of fun building it and using it on my scope. I am having trouble running the windows software on my minipc though. I've always felt the RGB led is a bit underused by the fan being either at 100% or off, so I altered the relevant bit of temperatureprobes.h to: // 0=auto (by sensor), 1=manual if ( dewconfig.fanmanualcontrol == 0) // check if fan control is under fan temp sensor { if ( boardtemp >= dewconfig.fantempon + 10 ) // if board/case temp too high { fanspeed = POWER_100; updatefanmotor(); } else if ( boardtemp >= dewconfig.fantempon + 5 ) { fanspeed = POWER_75; updatefanmotor(); } else if ( boardtemp >=...

Thanks for reporting it as it gave me the opportunity to go back and improve the code.
Hi Robert, looks good, running two hours now, manualy update between two Autoframes also works! Thanks for support! Greets Andreas

I posted an update to the windows app a few hours ago. 1. Connect to controller with Windows app 2. Goto logging window, set 10s update and click Automate 3. Click on the Graph tab and watch data come in every 10s I have had this running on a controller for the last few hours. I cannot seem to be able to generate a fail. The new release may have solved it. You must first uninstall existing windows app with control panel BEFORE installing this update
Hi Robert, i am sorry, not Sure. After a while, i have a look at the Graph Tab, there where no Data, so i press the Update Button. Data came in, but no auto update, so i look at the refresh Value, set it to 10 Sec, switch back to Graph Tab and wait, get one new data and then the Error. The manually update works on the first time, second get the Error. Automatic works also one time, second bring the error. Hope i remember right, i can test it today again.
