    busted

    busted

    Elegant Lua unit testing

busted is a unit testing framework with a focus on being easy to use. Supports Lua >= 5.1, luajit >= 2.0.0, and moonscript. busted test specs read naturally without being too verbose. You can even chain asserts and negations, such as assert.is_not.equal. Nest blocks of tests with contextual descriptions using describe, and add tags to blocks so you can run arbitrary groups of tests. An extensible assert library allows you to extend and craft your own assert functions specific to your case with method chaining. A modular output library lets you add on your own output format, along with the default pretty and plain terminal output, JSON with and without streaming, and TAP-compatible output that allows you to run busted specs within most CI servers.

    cocoyaxi

    cocoyaxi

A go-style coroutine library in C++11 and more

cocoyaxi (co for short), is an elegant and efficient cross-platform C++ base library. It contains a series of high-quality base components, such as a go-style coroutine, coroutine-based network programming framework, command line, and config file parser, high-performance log library, unit testing framework, JSON library, etc. co has implemented a go-style coroutine, which has the following features. Multi-thread scheduling, the default number of threads is the number of system CPU cores. Shared stack, coroutines in the same thread share several stacks (the default size is 1MB), and the memory usage is low. Simple test on Linux shows that 10 millions of coroutines only take 2.8G of memory (for reference only). There is a flat relationship between coroutines, and new coroutines can be created from anywhere (including in coroutines). Support system API hook (Windows/Linux/Mac), you can directly use third-party network library in coroutine.

    dockerize

    dockerize

Utility to simplify running applications in docker containers

Utility to simplify running applications in docker containers. dockerize is a utility to simplify running applications in docker containers. It allows you to generate application configuration files at container startup time from templates and container environment variables. generate application configuration files at container startup time from templates and container environment variables. Wait for other services to be available using TCP, HTTP(S), unix before starting the main process. The typical use case for dockerize is when you have an application that has one or more configuration files and you would like to control some of the values using environment variables. Another use case is when the application logs to specific files on the filesystem and not stdout or stderr. This makes it difficult to troubleshoot the container using the docker logs command.

    forever

    forever

CLI tool for ensuring that a given script runs continuously

A simple CLI tool for ensuring that a given script runs continuously (i.e. forever). Note that this project currently fully depends on the community for implementing fixes and new features. For new installations we encourage you to use pm2 or nodemon. If you are using forever programmatically you should install forever-monitor. There are two ways to use forever: through the command line or by using forever in your code. Note: If you are using forever programatically you should install forever-monitor. You can use forever to run scripts continuously (whether it is written in node.js or not). In addition to passing forever the path to a script (along with accompanying options, described above), you may also pass forever the path to a JSON file containing these options. The forever module exposes some useful methods to use in your code. Each method returns an instance of an EventEmitter which emits when complete.

    govaluate

    govaluate

    Arbitrary expression evaluation for golang

Sometimes, you can't know ahead-of-time what an expression will look like, or you want those expressions to be configurable. Perhaps you've got a set of data running through your application, and you want to allow your users to specify some validations to run on it before committing it to a database. Or maybe you've written a monitoring framework which is capable of gathering a bunch of metrics, then evaluating a few expressions to see if any metrics should be alerted upon, but the conditions for alerting are different for each monitor. A lot of people wind up writing their own half-baked style of evaluation language that fits their needs but isn't complete. Or they wind up baking the expression into the actual executable, even if they know it's subject to change. These strategies may work, but they take time to implement, time for users to learn, and induce technical debt as requirements change.

    nodejs-integration-tests-best-practices

    nodejs-integration-tests-best-practices

Beyond the basics of Node.js testing

Component/integration test is a hybrid between E2E and unit tets. It's gaining a lot of popularity and going by the testing diamond model it is considered as the default technique for the modern backend. Its main idea is testing an entire component (e.g., Microservice) as-is, through the API, with all the layers including the database but fake anything extraneous. This brings both high confidence and great developer experience. However, doing it right, fast, exhaustive and maximizing the value demand some learning and skills. This is the mission statement of this repo. Warning: You might fall in love with testing. Detailed instructions on how to write component tests in the RIGHT way including code example and reference to the example application. A Complete showcase of a typical Node.js backend with performant tests setup (50 tests in 4 seconds! including database!)

    speedtest-cli

    speedtest-cli

Command line interface for testing internet bandwidth using speedtest

Command line interface for testing internet bandwidth using speedtest.net. It is not a goal of this application to be a reliable latency reporting tool. Latency reported by this tool should not be relied on as a value indicative of ICMP style latency. It is a relative value used for determining the lowest latency server for performing the actual speed test against. Speedtest CLI brings the trusted technology and global server network behind Speedtest to the command line. Measure internet connection performance metrics like download, upload, latency and packet loss natively without relying on a web browser. Test the internet connection of your Linux desktop, a remote server or even lower-powered devices such as the Raspberry Pi with the Speedtest Server Network. Set up automated scripts to collect connection performance data, including trends over time.
