    cline

Command line tool for counting source code lines

...It is designed to recursively find any source file matching specific rules and count the line breaks within that file. You may specify file suffixes to include or exclude as well as regular expressions for code lines that shall be excluded (e.g. to exclude comments). By default a heuristic algorithm skips binary files. You may configure the restrictiveness of this algorithm with command line options.

    JxMake

    JxMake

    A Java-based cross-platform build system.

JxMake is a Java-based, cross-platform build system primarily inspired by the syntax and features of GNU Make, Perforce Jam, and CMake. In addition, JxMake provides several capabilities not typically found in other console-based build systems, including a built-in lightweight GUI, serial console, serial plotter, multi-MCU in-system programmer, and more. Currently, JxMake's loadable libraries (build scripts) are primarily designed for non-OS MCU systems and experimental use. Full...

    Vis

    Vis

A vi-like editor based on Plan 9's structural regular expressions

Vis aims to be a modern, legacy-free, simple yet efficient editor, combining the strengths of both vi(m) and sam. It extends vi's modal editing with built-in support for multiple cursors/selections and combines it with sam's structural regular expression-based command language. A universal editor, it has decent Unicode support and should cope with arbitrary files, including large, binary, or single-line ones. Efficient syntax highlighting is provided using Parsing Expression Grammars, which...

    Micro Parser Combinators

    Micro Parser Combinators

A Parser Combinator library for C

...It lets developers construct parsers by combining smaller parser components into increasingly complex grammars. The library uses predictive recursive descent and works with generic result types. It can generate parsers from regular expressions as well as complete grammar descriptions written as strings or files. Automatic error-message generation helps explain invalid input without requiring a separate diagnostic system. Because the implementation fits into a single source file, it is easy to embed into language runtimes and small applications. Typical uses include programming languages, data formats, and domain-specific languages.

    flex: the fast lexical analyser

flex is a tool for generating scanners

...The flex program reads user-specified input files, or its standard input if no file names are given, for a description of a scanner to generate. The description is in the form of pairs of regular expressions and C code, called rules. Flex generates a C source file named, "lex.yy.c", which defines the function yylex(). The file "lex.yy.c" can be compiled and linked to produce an executable. When the executable is run, it analyzes its input for occurrences of text matching the regular expressions for each rule. Whenever it finds a match, it executes the corresponding C code.
