Open Source Rust Multimedia Software

Velox — Segmented Download Manager Velox is a fast, modern, open-source download manager for desktop (macOS / Windows / Linux). Built with Tauri 2 + Rust and a React/Tailwind UI, it downloads files dramatically faster than a browser by splitting each file into parallel byte-range segments and fetching them simultaneously — the same technique used by IDM. Features - Segmented downloading — splits files into up to 32 parallel connections and assembles them byte-perfectly. Tune the connection count per download or globally. - Pause / resume— pause any download and pick it back up exactly where it left off, byte-for-byte (works on any server that supports HTTP byte ranges). - Crash-safe resume— Velox writes your progress to disk every few seconds with atomic writes, so an app crash, power loss, or reboot never costs you your progress. In-progress downloads are auto-resumed on launch. - Download history — every download is recorded in a local SQLite database

Media Viewer is an app for browsing a local collection of photos, videos, and audio. Open a folder, and the files appear in a grid with previews. You can search by name, tags, and description, filter by folders, years, and favorites, and sort by name, size, or view frequency. Tags, descriptions, and favorites are stored next to the library. The built-in viewer opens photos, videos, and audio. Grid size and keyboard shortcuts are available.

IsuDeck by rootcf is a free, high-performance, and open-source desktop studio that repurposes any spare secondary USB keyboard, wireless numpad, or macro keypad into a fully isolated control console. While commercial macro consoles cost hundreds of dollars with limited physical keys, IsuDeck unlocks 104+ macro keys from hardware you already own with ZERO additional hardware cost. Standard Windows behavior merges all attached keyboards into one input stream. IsuDeck uses a low-level Interception kernel filter driver to isolate your secondary keyboard by its unique Hardware ID (HID). Keystrokes are swallowed at the OS level before reaching games, documents, or active windows—leaving your main keyboard and gameplay 100% uninterrupted.

OpenTheBook is a free, lightweight desktop reader for PDF, EPUB, AZW3, and MOBI files. It is intentionally not a book library: install it, double-click a book, and read. No account, no clutter, no cost. First release targets Windows and Ubuntu/Linux.
