This is a keyboard (layout) that you can install in Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10. The layout is closer to the classic Bamini keyboard layout for Tamil typing. To install: Execute setup.exe and follow instructions. To use/ enable: Go to control panel -> Language -> Click on 'Add a Language' to add Tamil (Sri Lanka) -> Once language is added, click on 'options' for this language -> Click on 'Add an input method' and follow instructions -> Once the keyboard 'Tamil - Bamini keyboard' is installed, you should find it available in the list of keyboards shown in system tray or in the windows language toolbar. (Follow common Windows help material/ instructions found online to get the toolbar activated if not available by default).

IPA keyboard layout (Windows)
An IPA keyboard layout for linguists (usable only in Windows)
This is an IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) keyboard layout, made for linguists by linguists. There are very few tools for comprehensive IPA input available, some of those are strictly online, some of them cost money, and others yet are difficult to install and operate. I tried to make a free to use, free to distribute IPA keyboard for linguists to use both at home / in the office, and during fieldwork. So far the project is in its preliminary stages, as I have not received any major feedback, but if it interests other people I will continue developing it. Nevertheless, the input is fully usable, and contains a large number of IPA characters (almost all of them, in fact), and several diacritics. -

Тapper — keyboard layout switcher for X Window System and Wayland. Tapper runs in background, when an assigned key is tapped, Tapper activates the corresponding keyboard layout. "Tap" means that a single key is pressed and quickly released, so (1) no other keys are pressed at this time, and (2) period between pressing and releasing is shorter than keyboard repeat delay (usually it is 0.5 s, but it depends on desktop settings). Tapper key feature is using modifier keys for switching keyboard layouts without losing modifier's functionality. Tapper works for GNOME, GNOME Classic, Cinnamon, i3, KDE, LXDE, LXQt, Mate, Ubuntu, Xfce desktops. There are prebult RPM packages for Fedora, Mageia, OpenMandriva, openSUSE, source tarball for configure && make is also available. Tapper is free software. -
