Some Good News!

My very best friend Rosie and myself had talked many times about setting up our own challenge blog. Due to personal circumstances (bereavement) and other commitments, we never got around to creating our challenge blog....until now.

The challenges will run bi-weekly and there will be a winners prize for each challenge by one of our sponsors.

"Live"

My bestie gave me this "Wooden Word" last year and I hadn't got around to doing anything with it,until today.To my shame I'd forgotten all about it and I only found it today because I was looking for something else....shame on me. lol. Anyway, as you can see I've not done an awful lot with it, apart from colour it with ink and add the flowers and stick pin. I did lay some embellishments on some of the letters,but it looked too cluttered, so I've gone with the "less is more" look....

Use Red

Yay, I got to play with a brand new stamp today.It's an Andy Skinner stamp, from a set I bought on ebay. The set is Easter themed and I just fell in love with this Butterfly one. I've made this Atc for the challenge over at   http://funwithatcs.blogspot.co.uk/   The theme is to Use Red, so I coloured my atc using Firebrick Red ink.The background I stamped using 2 stamps from Visible Image, then stamped the butterfly on a separate piece of card and coloured it, using a damp brush and distress inks. After cutting the image out I added blue wire for the antennae before shaping the image and fixing it to the atc with a foam pad.

A little Bookmark

Here's a little Bookmark I made for the challenge over at Desmet Designs Weekly Challenge over on Facebook. I've used one of my new Kaiserkraft stamps for the image,then I re-stamped the label and the butterfly to add a layer,which was part of the theme.The other requirement was to add a charm, so I added one that actually came off one of my daughter's pieces of costume jewellery.

Stitching,Faux or Real

I thought I would pop these atcs on to my blog to share with you all.These are for the Atc Swap UK Group over on Facebook.For all of you that know me,you will know how much I love making atcs. The theme is "Stitching" faux or real. Mine as you see are faux, lol. I used one of my sewing style stamps from B.Line Designs, although all 5 atcs are the same, I have used different backing papers for highlighting the bodice, the label and postage mark. I've not shown them here,but I did also stamp the atc envelopes to match the theme.

Tag...Shabby Chic

It's been a few days since I last posted, goodness knows where the time goes,it seems like I've been busy all the time,but when I look back,I've not achieved very  much,lol.

I've decided to enter a challenge over at  http://anythingchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2013/02/challenge-86-vintageshabby-chic.html  The theme is Shabby Chic,so I thought I would make a Tag for my entry. I have used one of the new stamps from Kaisercraft along with some of their fabby backing papers.The colour is a sort of motley green,but is showing blue in the photo. Two pins are from my stash that I made ages ago,looking at the photo I can see they should have gone "in" a bit further,lol. For the bow I tore a strip of  shimmery cloth, there's also a little piece of it in behind the flowers. Finally I very lightly distressed the edges of the tag to enhance the shabby look.

Steampunk Peg

Would you believe me if I told you I spent all afternoon in my craft room with the intention if making 5 atcs for a swap and start a Mosiac for a challenge...and I ended up making this Steampunk Peg,lol. It all started off with me sorting through some paper pads that I'd not packed away and I came across the Docrafts Steampunk paper pad that I'd bought at the craft show in Exeter a few weeks back.Then I remembered that I'd bought a couple of matching stamps...that was it, all thoughts of the 5 atcs and Mosiac went out of the window...although I have made 2 atcs that I've attached to the peg.
So maybe I'll make a start on the other stuff tomorrow, I'm not going to bank on it though  as my daughter is coming to spend the day, so lots of tea and chatter,with the odd cupcake thrown in...lovely.

Love is in the Air....

This is my 2nd Twinchie for the challenge over at....http://twinchie-twinchiehotmaillive.blogspot.co.uk/....I love this set of stamps. I have had them for such a long time and unfortunately have no packaging for them now. They are Paris/Love themed and the  little cherub postie is just so cute carrying the love letters. All the stamps I've used are from the same set. I used distress ink for the background and edges,then with a damp brush and distress ink pads I coloured the cherub before adding him to the twinchie.

Love Letter

I so love this stamp, a set was sent to me by a very dear penfriend who lives in Canada...I think they could be Oxford Impressions,but as I had no label/packaging attached I can't be 100% sure.
So,this little image was just so perfect for the theme over at..... http://twinchie-twinchiehotmaillive.blogspot.co.uk/.....I'm sure this lovely lady is writing a love letter to her sweetheart, I hope so as the theme over at the Twinchie Challenge blog is "Love is in the Air"
I shaded the image using a damp brush and distress ink pads...the words were stamped using a mini alphabet stamp set.
I'm off now to celebrate my birthday with my family...x

My Book Page

It's been a funny old week so far,so much crafting to get done, but life got in the way, I won't get any done thursday as it's my birthday,so will have the family around. I did manage to find an hour or so this afternoon to get my book page done. I've joined a book circle,my first one ever over on Facebook ( Desmet Designs) and this is the page I have made, the front and back. It measures 5" x 4" and the theme is Blue and Orange. So I decided to use some of my gorgeous Graphic45 papers as the colours are so vibrant.

I'm hoping Shelagh,who will be the recipient of the finished book will like my page.

Black & White Atcs

Good morning from a very damp Devon.....I thought the weather would be better today,but no,we have more rain!
