Pronoun Trouble

Finally actually playing this after a brief stint where I was too annoyed to look at it. (The fact that you can't turn off auto-save in the game pisses me off.)

I'm not very far in yet; only made it to my first advancement match. I'm liking the story and the characters so far, but the gameplay... Look, I like turn-based gameplay. I'll probably at least try to knuckle through to the end of this, but I do miss that from the other games. Add to it the fact that the 3D camera is making me kinda dizzy, and, well.

Honestly, a replay of Fire Red and/or Leaf Green and watching the cut scenes/a Let's Play on YouTube is looking pretty appealing by comparison.

I think I may have walked five miles today in while playing Pokémon Go, and my legs are not going to be happy about it tomorrow.

I am trying desperately not to care about the shameless money-grab that is special backgrounds, but alas, it's not working very well.

Anyway, Happy Pokémon Day/Weekend/What-have-you, the trailer for Pokémon Winds and Waves also got to me more than I wanted it to, Nintendo clearly has my number on speed-dial.

The problem I have with a lot of original English language magical girl series, I think, is that they tend to start with the main character joining an established group rather than a new group forming around the main character. I have no idea why this bothers me, it just does! Which sucks, because there's some original English language magical girl stories out there that I'd really like to get into, but just end up bouncing off of. I may just need to do some expectations management, but in the mean time, it's still annoying.

After approximately five hundred years (internet time), I put up a new post at kittens_and_spitefic! Valentine's Day stuff SUCKS 👍 Feel free to go bombard me with pictures of cute animals and/or all sorts of fannish Valentine's Day stuff to show me the error of my ways!

Downright astounding that I managed to forget about basting stitches for nigh on two decades.

On the plus side, now that I've remembered them, patching the worn out inner thighs of my pants is much less of a headache!

I don't seem to have made a list of my acquisitions this year for either my birthday or Xmas! ...Perhaps it's because I was so spectacularly underwhelmed 😓

One cool thing that I got was a gift card for a month's full membership at a local, uh. Fabrication place?

Right. So. You know how a bunch of crafts can require specific, really complicated and expensive machinery that a given person may not have the room or money to buy for themselves? Well, this facility is dedicated to housing a lot of that machinery for use by local crafters. Things like woodworking stuff, sewing machines, ceramics wheels and a kiln, a 3D printer, etc.

Anyway, I finally got around to activating my membership and signing up for classes, and my first class is tonight! I wanted to take the ceramics intro class (required to use the ceramics space), but those have been booked up for a while, so I've been out of luck. I did at least find some classes that interest me, and I look forward to learning more stuff for when I might extend my membership in the future.

As bad as Trump's first term was, this one is just... so unspeakably worse.

A part of me wants to dwell on placing blame, on shouting at every leftist and so-called progressive who refused to vote for Harris. But that's not useful right now.

How I feel those who refused to vote for Harris is immaterial, as is how they feel about their own votes (or lack thereof). I hope instead that they have learned their lesson, as some of them actually may not have even after 2016.

More than that, I hope that there will still be a chance for them learning their lesson to be useful.


Enough of this for now; I need to go digging for some hope.
