ECHINACEA

The echinacea, also known as purple coneflower, is a flowering plant in the daisy family. It commonly grows in wooded areas and prairies in North America.

What makes the echinacea plant unique is the fact that you can use every single part of it. Its flowers, stem, petals, and roots all have extracts that can be used in supplementation and medication

Just a few critters seen around around our place and in the neighborhood.

Sweet little Bunny was in the yard.  Our dog just watches the bunnies but doesn't chase them

This bat was hanging under the eaves of the front porch.

HOT!

Well it's been hot here---at least hot for us out this way.  89 degrees F today with the air filled with smoke from all the wild fires --Washington, Oregon, California and now Montana and other places too.  into the 100's F tomorrow

This is this mornings' sky-----7:30am

Hot and smoky and it was hard to breathe---for me anyway

TREES

Took a ride up in the mountains---thank goodness they are pretty close.  We went up Baker Lake road along side Mt. Baker.  No Snow but lots of trees.

Mt. Baker, Baker Lake and Lake Shannon, Mt. Shuksan and again Mt. Baker
Interesting floral stuff.  Famous mountain Blueberries, Fireweed and another fireweed I thought was interesting and a nodding grass seed head
More trees

Notice hardly any snow on the mountain. Yes we are experiencing a drought

BLUE

Took a run up to the backside of Mt. Baker.  We see the mountain every day but we see the west side of the mountain with a big bite out of her but we went to the east side and the view is different and the skies were so blue.

This first picture of Mt. Baker is the view we see every day.

The rest are pics taken yesterday.  We have had so many days of very blue blue sky.  Some pics a little hazy because of the wildfires elsewhere.

Mt. Baker with the lovely turquoise Baker Lake below.

The great trail through the woods
Peek-a-boo
Mt. Shuksan with not much snow
And there she is with not bite out of her
