January 1st----Theme Day

The first of every month is always theme day for the image makers on City Daily Photo--so today is not only the 1st of the month but the beginning of a new year.  The theme is "Favorite Photo for the Year".  Well I can dig through the thousands of photos I have have taken and not find a favorite---well most are favs.  I chose instead an image of one of my favorite flowers.  I love my gardens and like to have plush wild gardens.  but this is only one single flower---but a favorite.
It is a Venidium-Orange Prince---bright orange flower with silvery leaves.

Sunset

Sunset at the Mud Flats and Skagit Bay
A majority of the water birds that winter over in Skagit Valley hang out in and around Skagit Bay.   There are Snow geese and a multitude of different ducks
The dark line towards the back of the image are water fowl
This is where we go for gorgeous sunset shots----one of many places

Outdoor Wednesday

Well the snow is gone and with that we will have days of rain---just Mother Nature's way of telling us we don't have snow our claim to fame is RAIN.  A lesson learned Mother a lesson learned!
So the gardens have been put to bed, the greenhouses closed and Glory be the chickens get to free range.  they love it
The snow is gone and no more blue sky

 The chicks are out a-roaming
 Goodies everywhere

The little green house has cutting and such

Playing with the moon

Just having a little fun with the Super Moon

Brand New Treasure

This is my grandaughter's new saddle.  She saved long and hard to get it hand made for her and her horse so it fits perfect.  She worked two jobs and it took about a year to save and have it made.  Can't wait to see it on Macaronie and K riding.
Rodeo season starts in Spring

Catching Eagles

This is the time of year that Salmon are swimming upstream back to their native birthplace and the Eagles are looking for dinner.
So time to search for Eagles.  They are slowly on their way down from the North to winter here
I am ready--- up river--me, my camera and Bingo on point (heehee).

 The early birds

Overlooking Stanwood and a Full December Moon

Looking SW over Stanwood on a cloudy yet beautiful day.  Not much to downtown but a nice town sandwiched between  Port Susan Bay and Skagit Bay.

Full Moon in December called 'the Cold Moon' because it is Dang cold here---for us anyway---teens and 20s makes it COLD!
