dexter dexter dexter
Nov. 3rd, 2009 09:52 amOkay, I always joke about Dexter being a hyperbole of the human condition. Especially as a Christian watching a show about a serial killer. But now? ( hahaha... so satisfying on many levels )
I get attached easily, but this was fast!
Oct. 30th, 2009 08:53 amOkay, so I have this serious 24-hour crush going on Raffaella Carrá and Adriano Celentano. Both who are in this video:
If the handy youtube peoples are to be believed, It's not English, its Italian phonetics sung in an American accent, but in a way to represent the sound of English words.
I just cannot stop hitting repeat... heh.
Also a Raffaella Carrá clip is supposedly in the episode Midnight of S4 NuWho. I seem to remember that... :)

IT'S A GUNDAM... *dies*
Oct. 27th, 2009 10:43 pmOkay, this Gundam is amazing. I can't stop looking at it.

Oct. 13th, 2009 10:42 amI sort of love my calendar today. It always seems to have a knack of bringing up the right "thought of the day" when I need it.
Do your best to live in peace with everyone. Just do your best. You can't control their attitude, but you can manage yours.
That used to be taped at the top of my computer when I was at the job. :)

Oct. 12th, 2009 01:40 pmHappy Bartolomé Columbus Day!
*cough* Okay, so I do have a soft spot for Cristoforo's swashbuckling brother.
from The Last Voyage of Columbus: Being the Epic Tale of the Great Captain's Fourth Expedition, Including Accounts of Swordfight, Mutiny, Shipwreck, Gold, War, Hurricane, and Discovery by Martin Dugard
Tall and rugged, with broad shoulders, a narrow waist, and a dry wit that was often misconstrued as antagonistic, Bartolomé was almost his big brother's equal as a sailor. He was a brave man, a daring and demanding leader of men, and a natural linguist. And there was no questioning his perseverance, that one trait most vital to an explorer: when seeking funding for Columbus's first voyage, Bartolomé had pursued French financing for so long that he was still in Paris when he received the astounding news that his brother had sailed across the ocean and found a new world. King Charles VIII personally passed along word of the New World's discovery and bestowed a congratulatory purse of one hundred crowns in traveling expenses. Bartolomé then raced for Spain, but the news had traveled so slowly that when Bartolomé boarded the Nina at the voyage's conclusion to congratulate his brother, it was the end of the second voyage, not the first.
An excellent book, an exciting read. Very much worth it.

ALSO, Happy Birthday to
too much tv
Sep. 29th, 2009 01:35 pmBack from Chicago, which meant I had some TV stockpiled for the viewing.
Short:
Flashforward, if LOST didn't happen this would have been LOST. That's not a bad thing. I'll keep watching.
Supernatural, much enjoyed. Payoff from four seasons is magnificent.
Merlin, top notch. Good little actors working their hearts out.
Vampire Diaries??? ( ugh and spoilers )
I almost didn't want to do a PicFic for this week, but I ended up having an idea for how I would have handled things differently.
Damon's Lost Boo or How Damon Got His Boo Back
by me
( Dear Non-Diary Diary )
