Newburgh /ˈnbɜːrɡ/ is a city located in Orange County, New York, United States, 60 miles (97 km) north of New York City, and 90 miles (140 km) south of Albany, on the Hudson River.[1] It is the location of Washington's Headquarters. Interstate 84 goes very close to the city.

There is a long history of racism in Newburgh and the Hudson Valley.[2][3] During the COVID-19 pandemic, there was rioting in Newburgh because the police killed a black person.[4]
