A new start with stitch- and crochet-alongs

Over the past few weeks I have been working on some fun, bright and happy projects. Projects I wanted to show. And share. And today I finally decided to do so.

Since January 4,  a cross-stitch-along has started called: Randje per week. Each week Simone and Annelies (who some of you will know from Quilts and Siggies) share one or more small borders from old stitcheries. You can learn more about it here.
I will be using the patterns of the borders and own inspiration every now and then. More to come soon.

Yesterday I started to wander around on blogland again a bit. When I came accross  Dolores' blog, I saw this gorgeous Quilty Stitches Sampler Along. HOW could I resist? Blocks that are 24 stitches x 24 stitches big and come once every 2 weeks... that should be manageable along with the other projects I am working on. Here is my start.

And here is the crochet-along I am working on. I found it on facebook and is quite doable if you take your time and do about one row a day. I bought some new yarns for this and yes, I could actually find some in my yarn stash. A Yarn Stash - better keep that one small.

From now on I will write most of my posts only in English. It's a lot of work, to write in two languages and since most Dutch can read English, the choice was easily made.

For the time being, I am turning off my comments, so there is no pressure for me. If you have a question, please email me.

Een ander begin / A different beginning

Het is nu bijna één jaar geleden, dat ik mijn Simone de Klerk - Quilting and Stitchery Diary blog heb bijgewerkt. Er zijn tijden geweest dat ik het heb gemist, maar meer tijden dat ik het niet heb gemist. Ik heb ontdekt dat er voor mij te veel tijd in dit social media gaat zitten, niet alleen door mijn blog bij te houden, maar ook door andere blogs te bezoeken en een opmerking achter te laten, opmerkingen op mijn eigen blog te beantwoorden, berichten in twee talen te schrijven enz. 

Met mijn nieuwe blog: Craft Focus, hoop ik mij meer te FOCUSSEN op CRAFTS en daarvoor via een blog een journaal bij te houden, dat andere kunnen bezoeken als ze daar zin in hebben. Ik weet nog niet welke invulling ik er precies aan ga geven, maar daar zal ik de komende maanden vast een weg in vinden.

Hocus pocus en ik focus.

It has almost been a year now since I last blogged on my Simone de Klerk - Quilting and Stitchery Diary blog. There were times that I missed blogging, but many more times that I did not. I discovered that too much time went into this social media, not only in keeping my blog up to date but also in visiting other blogs and leaving behind comments, answering comments left on my blog, writing texts in two languages etc. 

So, with my new blog: Craft Focus, I hope to FOCUS more on CRAFTS, keeping a diary for myself, which others can visit if they wish to. I still have to figure out how I am going to fill this in, but  am sure I will find a way in the months to come. 

From now on I will write most of my posts only in Dutch. If you want to translate it, please use the translate gadget in the right column. The google translating skills are awful, but it does translate what is important, I guess.
