Sparkle and Shine is the challenge at Bloggers Challenge this week- and I have been missing joining in! I made this card for my charge nurse at work:
This uses a TJ technique called Mono Markers. I love the depth of color achieved! I used an image by Sweet Stamps. I used Creative Inspirations paint Fairy Dust over the marker on the candle to add sparkle, and also added sparkle to the centers of the flowers. For the background of the candles, I added a sparkly/shimmery cardstock - the cardstock is slightly off white IRL.
I am celebrating Christmas with my Family in my hometown of Kankakee, Ill Saturday. So, I am still singing Christmas Hymns and wrapping Christmas gifts : ) And, I may have to make some cookies tomorrow.......

Bloggers Challenge this week is Christmas in July- Yeah- I have a card made to play along!
This is a card I made with some of the Poinsettia's created for last Tuesday's challenge at Sweet Stamps- colors and supplies listed in THIS post.
I won this gorgeous ribbon- I added some metal rhinestones to the ribbon after tying a bow.
The background is from the Technique Junkies and is called Acrylic Block Taping. The poinsettia's were added in another technique called Cascading Image from the Technique Junkies.
Bloggers Challenge 'MOM' Lisa can be found HERE. We play weekly- when we can- and it is just for fun.
Off to get ready for a party we are having tonight........

Run Ray Run!!!
Hehehe- My Splitcoaststampers blogging group, "Stamp Addicts" chooses a stamper to CASE every couple of weeks- this is a CASE of Lynn's Funny Friday card.
My husband just celebrated another Anniversary of the day he was born, and we were talking about how 'things have changed' yesterday. Hubby can usually eat and eat and eat and never gains a pound.....and he discovered yesterday at a Doctor visit he has gained 9 pounds since last year. For a guy that can eat and never gain any weight, that was a little shock to him- that is a first- he may have to start watching what he eats....... like the rest of us......
The image is by Dude Time Doodles/Bonibleaux Designs. I colored it with Copics and used a Technique Junkies method for the sky called Cloud Paper from the TJ Stamping Companion CD. I printed the sentiment on my computer.
I also used my Dies for the 'To Die For' Bloggers Challenge this week. You can use any die or SVG cut on your card- it is a JFF challenge. Bloggers Challenge Mom Lisa's blog is HERE.
Challenges:
Dude Time Doodles-masculine and a funny sentiment
CraftyCatz-CAS
Cropstop-CAS
SJ Crafts- 1-2-3 and add 3 of something
Twisted Tuesday- Clouds (not stamped)
Here is the linky to join in the Bloggers Challenge- To Die For

Bloggers Challenge- Birthday
We have alot of March Birthdays in my family- we all live too far away from each other to celebrate together, so that saves me about 5# in cake from my thighs....LOL
I used an image from I Brake for Stamps and Colored it with Copics. Can't you just hear Elvis singing to you? hahaha The background is called Faux Mosiac- from the latest Technique Junkies newsletter.I used Perfect Pearls to outline the DSP and there is a coating of glossy accents you cannot see in the picture- that adds a great effect IRL.

Bloggers Challenge- 3-D
I had some fun playing- making a gift for a friend that invited me to go to the SU regional in Milwaukee with her..... Even though I am not a SU demo, I thought it would be fun to go....and I did encourage my friend to sign up..... : ) She is great at it too!
I used the Technique Junkies 3D and Fun Folds CD for this pattern- and used SU Twitterpated DSP and the new doily die- plus some new fun pleated ribbon...... This is filled with some Dove chocolate....yum......... The SAB stamp set was stamped in Indigo and I punched the middle medalion with the 1/2" punch and added rhinestones. Kim's favorite SU color is Blushing Bride......
While I was at it, I made another...... for Kim's upline......who will be with us.....
More Twitterpated DSP and the doily die. I used Red Riding Hood ribbon that I gathered up the middle and sewed on the ends of the lid.
I left a few Dove chocolates for my hubby- he is a sweety!
Stop by Bloggers Challenge Mom- Lisa's blog and join us in the fun!!!

Bloggers Challenge- Seashore........
I wanted to make a card for a special Make a Wish event- and I saw the perfect card on Pintrest....
This is Baja Blue- I know- my computer is still at Dell and I am really missing it! The link to the original card I CASE'd is HERE. Tell Linda you found her here if you stop by please! I used all SU images and punches etc except for the Starfish (See-De's). The eyelet fish hook is from Clear DOllar Stamps.
I know this is a stretch- from the Seashore to the little fish.....but I need a card for Sunday and the Make a Wish theme is Sea World. And the seashore is right next to where this little guy is hanging out, right? Well, it is where the guy holding the fishing pole is...... I
I used Cuttlebug highlights and made my own Baker's Twine- I learned how on the Technique Junkies CD Stamping Companion.
Those of you who know me have heard the story about my nephew who has gone through Cancer treatment last year and Make a Wish sent the family to Disney. The cards Brian received (from all over the world) was such a nice thing- so I am trying to be good about sending cards that may touch people when they least expect it!
Bloggers challenge is open to everyone- so it would be so fun to see you join in with your Seashore themed card.
Join in the linky party and don't forget to stop by and say hello to list Mom Lisa- HERE.

Bloggers Challenge-Texturize it
I have Blog Candy HERE : )
I finally had a chance to create with inspiration from the Stamping Companion CD made by Technique Junkies- it is new and there are lots of things I want to try in it......
I used the Blossoms punch by SU and added texture and color- the petals are Calypso Coral and Tangerine and the leaves Pear Pizzaz. The DSP is the In COlor pack. I used the set Elements of Style to add a little more interest and a sentiment.
I had the pleasure of going to a SU workshop where we made some fun cards- here is one that has texture on it- my SU demo Kim is very talented and I always love to see what ideas she comes up with!
The hearts are from an Emblosslits die which cuts them out and embosses them, and the DSP is from the SAB catalog. How fun is this!
Bloggers challenge is open to all who are interested in playing along- add some texture to your card and join in! Blogger Challenge Mom is LISA and you can find her blog HERE.

Bloggers Challenge- Something with Wings
I made a fun Technique Junkies background- and it was quite easy as well- chalked emboss. I love using SU colors, because I can consult the color wheel to see what matches...this is Old Olive and Eggplant- and I used Copics with similar values to color my image ( I used V04, V09, YG93, C1 Copics).
The image and sentiment are from Create with TLC and are digi's. I added Sakura Gelly Roll Pen for shimmer. The embossing folder is music notes and I highlighted that with Close to Cocoa and the gelly roll pen.
Here is the link to Lisa's blog- our Blogger Challenge 'Mom'. Below is a linky for you to join in with your 'Things with Wings'.

Happy New Year+ Bloggers Challenge-Celebration
I made a card for a New Years Eve Celebration for the Host/hostess of a fantastic party.
I used Silver Lustre cardstock for the base cardstock. All of the images are digi's from Create with TLC. I used the Ranger Paint dauber and applied the paint with a paintbrush to the stars on the main image and around the resolution punched circle. I added a pink digi set of Champaigne glasses, so took and sponged on some pink to the background to bring it all together.
The grungeboard star on the top right has Spun Sugar Distress stain, and some dabbed on Silver dauber-plus Sakura Gelly Roll pen for sparkle.
(The Pink in the background is NOT a part of the card.....I had to shoot the picture a few times to get the swirls in the background shimmery cardstock to show up : )
I love the great sentiments and images at Create with TLC- many free- and the clubs are fabulous. Stop by and say hello- tell her Shelly sent you!
The Bloggers challenge this week is Celebration- and it is open to your interpretation. Blog 'Mom' Lisa can be found HERE.

Bloggers Challenge-Tie it Up
My Blog Candy (three winners) HERE thru 12/19
I interpreted this challenge .....loosely...... Tying up loose ends........
One of my daughter's dear friends did not have a grad party....so I made her a card...more than once,
but my daughter would need a card and would use it..... Well, it got so late, the kids all went off to college and I still had not sent a card (blushing....). So........I decided to wait and send the card before Christmas- what college student would not love $$$ at Christmas time???
So- tying up my list of kids that needed cards from June graduation...... I have to admit- this card fits her better than the other cards- the image with the long hair is perfect and I added more purple.....I hope she likes it!
I used a digi from Bugaboo and colored it with Copic Markers.........The background paper and sentiment are digi's from Create with TLC. The digi paper is printed on the text weight Cryogen White cardstock, so it has sparkle in it....and purple is for Northwestern where she attends college. The ribbon is from the Target $ spot : ) . I used Wisped Frames technique I learned from the Technique Junkies- what did we do before that technique??? I added the ribbon and the punched edge to balance out the card.
To play along with bloggers challenge, add your card to Mr Linky below. And, stop by and visit our challenge 'Mom's Blog' HERE. We play JFF (Just for Fun) and there is a lways a challenge theme to inspire your stamping.
Have a great day!

My first Art Journal Page
I like to explore different Techniques and I am very drawn to the Art Journaling pages I am seeing on-line....... so, I took the challenge:
I joined a Ning group and this was the first challenge- tear up pieces of Designer Paper and adhere them to your page (I used Gel Medium Matte).
I used SU DSP in Christmas theme. Them I applied a layer of gesso (white). Next I added distress Stain in Broken China and Spun Sugar (I am just drawn to pink and blues....).
Then I used a Crafter's Workshop stencil (Harlequin) and added triangles. I decided to do the next page to coordinate as well, so I took distress ink from my craft mat, added water and painted it on- I added the stencil to the 2nd page as well.
***************************************************************
On Page one, I added circles around a punched out 1 3/4" circle. On page 2, I used Spun Sugar and added pink circles. I spritzed on Cranberry Glimmer Mist and decided to stop.
I punched out oval panels and embossed with Swiss dots. I added brown hightlights. then, I added the pink letters and journaling.
*************************************************************
On page 2, I decided to use the Smoochie Template from the Art Journaling forum made by Tracey Malnofski (I cannot draw- especially faces!). I used the face pattern supplies and used SU DSP for the neck and hair. I added brown sponging around the edges of her hair templates. I colored the eyes and lips with Copics and added sponging to her cheeks.
I will try alot of different techniques and will probably take an on-line workshop or two.
If you know of any good books or workshops- please leave me a note in the comments area!

Bloggers Challenge- Sketch
This week for the Bloggers Challenge, Lisa challenged us with a Sketch :
I used a new stamp from Rogue Redhead for my card:
I did some paper piecing and the gloves are 'leveled up' which is a technique I learned from the Technique Junkies. I was feeling grungy, so I distressed the bottom DSP by Basic Grey and sewed around the edge. I also distressed the red layer- SU DSP and sewed that with a Zig Zag stitch. I some technical difficulties with my middle layer, and I decided to add the brown striped DSP . I added red stickles to the heart on the glove and on the top Rt corner.
The circle under the glove uses the new Ranger Distress Ink in red- with Rock Candy crackle paint and then then further distressed with Mahogony Distress Ink.
The Bloggers Challenge is posted weekly on Fridays- come play along!

Bloggers Challenge- Use Cardboard
Bloggers Challenge Mom LISA has challenged us this week to use cardboard on our projects.
I have been attempting to make Breast Cancer Awareness cards, so decided to put the challenge into action using a digi from McMahon Five Designs. (Where there is a monthly freebie for BCA- gallery HERE).
I printed two of the images- cut out the ribbons from the first image and glued them to cardboard:
I cut out the cardboard once the glue was dry, then colored with Copic markers and added sparkle with Sakura Gelly Roll pen. The ribbon matches so much better IRL. The background is wax paper resist.
I hope you will join in the challenge- add your card to Mr Linky and come hop and meet the other gals that are playing along!
**Add your card to Mr Linky to join in!

McMahon Five Designs New Releases 9/22/11
****The Feline Playful Thankful Blog Party is HERE****
McMahon Five Designs released this gorgeous image called Sweet Baby Mine, I had to create with it!
My creative Journey began with cross stitch, crochet and macrame, but it stepped up a notch when I had children. I began taking sewing classes- specifically smocking and sewing for children. I attended the Martha Pullen School in Huntsville and joined the Smocking Arts Guild of America (SAGA) and attended quite a few of the SAGA National Conventions where I learned smocking, embroidery and needlework from teachers from all over the world. I hope one day my grandchildren will wear a Christening Gown like the one shown above that I make by hand (or machine)!
I made my card with Basic Grey Capella paper and a very light touch of Copic markers. I used the Top Note Die from SU and the oval shape Nestability for my card with SU cardstock. Sewing outlines around the Basic Grey paper in a Zig Zag stitch and the Prima lace to the Die adds a touch of dimension. I had to crimp the DSP on the Top Die layer to enter the Gingersnaps Challenge. The ribbon is wire edged and I added a button center for bling-and for the Bloggers Challenge to use buttons this week. The sentiment is free with the image. I added a touch of brown ink to the edges of all of the background panels as well.
Challenges:
Gingersnaps - Use your crimper
Sentimental Sundays- Monochromatic
Digistamps 4 Joy- Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamps-Use a die or a punch

Bloggers Challenge-Stars
What's on Trisha's desk post is HERE
For Bloggers Challenge, our challenge is STARS
I made a card with a digital image from OWH from the past. It uses the Shy Bears- I am sorry I do not remember who gave this freebie away. (Here are free digi's currently available at OWH).
The past few days are so full of emotion- I watched a couple of documentaries about 911 and am full of sadness and joy- so many people made it out of the towers alive -but how the event changed us as a nation! It is so awesome to see how people came together as one to help after 911. It is really sad to see the first defenders with health issues now and PTSD.
My card will go to a soldier in Afghanastan, so I cannot add glitter, but I did add a touch of sparkle with a Sakura Gelly Roll pen to all of the stars- on the image and in the DSP. I added a piece of coordinations in red embossed with stars, and then sanded it so the core color showed through.
If you would like to join in with the Bloggers Challenge this week, add your link to Mr Linky below. Stop by challenge Mom- LISA's blog too- we play every Friday, and you can join us anytime in the week.
Have a great day!
