  • As Europe shapes the next generation of circular fashion through the upcoming ESPR and Circular Economy Act, eComID was pleased to join eBay and the Fédération de la Mode Circulaire in Brussels last week to discuss how policy can better enable circular business models. Thanks to everyone who contributed to an insightful discussion. The transition to circular fashion will require close collaboration between policymakers, brands, and technology providers - and we're excited to be part of that journey.

Thank you so much MEP Paulo Cunha for joining our conversation! Our European entrepreneurs and innovators, such as Trosort, It Goes Forward and eComID supported by eBay’s Circular Fashion Fund initiative showed us that there is so much potential for the growth of a more sustainable fashion sector in Europe. Their presence and your clear discourse make me confident that we can achieve those objectives. cc Fédération de la Mode Circulaire

𝙄𝙣𝙙𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 & 𝘾𝙞𝙧𝙘𝙪𝙡𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙮: 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙁𝙪𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙀𝙪𝙧𝙤𝙥𝙚’𝙨 𝙏𝙚𝙭𝙩𝙞𝙡𝙚 𝙎𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙤𝙧 🇪🇺♻️ I had the pleasure of joining representatives from eBay and the Circular Fashion Federation in Brussels for a high-level policy dinner on enabling innovation in circular fashion. The European textile industry is undergoing a paradigm shift. What was once perceived as a regulatory burden has evolved into a core business strategy for resilience and growth. However, to scale up high-quality recycling, fibre-to-fibre sorting, and the uptake of secondary raw materials, our political response must be both strategic and stable. As a Member of the European Parliament, I believe our work must be guided by three core pillars: 1️⃣ Regulatory Stability: Creating a predictable, harmonised framework across the Single Market to support ecodesign without creating red tape. 2️⃣ Strategic Investment: Leveraging initiatives like the upcoming Industrial Accelerator Act to deploy advanced recycling infrastructure and strengthen the business case for circular materials. 3️⃣ Market Integration: Ensuring the future Circular Economy Act effectively stimulates real demand for recycled fibres, making them competitive against virgin materials. Europe has a unique opportunity to lead global green manufacturing. To do so, our regulatory requirements must foster, rather than hinder, industrial innovation and digital platform scaling. Thank you to Charlotte Cheynard for the kind invitation and to eBay, to the Circular Fashion Federation, and all colleagues for an insightful and timely discussion. 🤝 #EuropeanParliament #CircularEconomy #IndustrialPolicy #TextileIndustry #Innovation #SingleMarket
