Earlier this month, Orange Corners brought Dutch and African businesses together at our HQ and online to explore how Dutch knowledge can help tackle real cool logistics challenges in Nigeria and Sudan. Alumni Zayith Food company, Ecotutu (both Orange Corners Nigeria) and Aryaf Agro (Orange Corners Sudan) shared a challenge they face, from transporting fresh produce and cold chain financing to improving cold storage. In response, Dutch cold logistics companies contributed their expertise, practical experience and fresh perspectives. This exchange is exactly what Orange Corners is about: bridging the gap between African and Dutch entrepreneurs and connecting innovation with experience to create real impact. The founders come from six Sudanese states: Khartoum, Kassala, Al Jazirah, Red Sea, Gedaref, and White Nile, highlighting the richness of entrepreneurial talent and the abundance of opportunities across the country. These ventures operate across a wide range of industries, with particularly strong representation in the healthcare, manufacturing, and education sectors, key industries with significant potential to generate lasting economic and social impact. Last month, the Orange Corners partner network gathered in Nairobi, Kenya, for the program’s regular partners meeting, where we met with our partners to review the progress achieved so far and discuss the next steps toward strengthening support and empowerment for young entrepreneurs in Sudan. The management team of 249Startups presented its vision on the program’s key achievements and challenges, while also highlighting important lessons learned. The meeting created valuable opportunities to exchange experiences and insights with regional program partners, helping strengthen collaboration and expand the program’s impact. Orange Corners Sudan continues to empower young people by equipping them with knowledge, skills, mentorship, and funding to support the growth of their ideas and existing businesses, enhance their innovation capabilities, and contribute to building a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem in Sudan. We were also pleased to connect with our valued partners: Haggar Group and United Capital Bank (UCB), who continue to play a key role in maximizing the program’s impact and creating meaningful, sustainable opportunities for young entrepreneurs in Sudan.
