BIMI Checker
BIMI (Brand Indicators for Message Identification) publishes a brand logo for supporting inboxes to show next to authenticated mail. Enter a domain to check the BIMI record, the logo URL, the Verified Mark Certificate and the DMARC policy the logo depends on.

What the BIMI check covers
- A TXT record at
default._bimi.yourdomainstarting withv=BIMI1. - The logo URL (
l=), served over HTTPS as SVG. - The certificate URL (
a=), pointing to a Verified Mark Certificate (VMC) or Common Mark Certificate (CMC). - DMARC at enforcement, with
p=quarantineorp=reject.
Why DMARC comes first
Inbox providers show a BIMI logo only for mail passing DMARC under an
enforced policy. A domain on p=none with a valid BIMI
record still shows no logo. Gmail requires a VMC or CMC, Apple Mail
requires a VMC, and Yahoo shows the logo for well-authenticated
senders without a certificate.
Frequently asked questions
What format does the BIMI logo need?
The logo is an SVG in the SVG Tiny Portable/Secure profile, square, with a solid background and no scripts or external references. The file is served over HTTPS at the URL in the l= tag.
Is a VMC required for BIMI?
The BIMI record itself works without one. Gmail shows the logo only with a VMC or CMC, and Apple Mail only with a VMC. A VMC needs a registered trademark, a CMC needs a logo in public use for at least a year, and both come from an authorized certificate authority.
Why does the logo not show after publishing BIMI?
The usual causes are DMARC at p=none, a missing VMC for Gmail, a logo in the wrong SVG profile, or low sending volume. Mailbox providers also cache BIMI, so changes take a few days to appear.
