Federation Updates

First up for today, I’ve done a partial update of Marty Tabard, mostly to more clearly define the abilities which work in Core versus those that don’t…

Sessions 16 and 17: The Tokyo Terrors, The Gates of Light

Back in Tokyo, Ranko came up against both Immigration and Animal Control – and in the midst of the confusion, tried Continue reading

Game Night

The champions game will be tonight at the UT library as usual, starting at around 7:00-7:30. Hopefully I can get the log of last session up before then.

Martin “Marty” Tabard, Jr.

This is my character, ready to be evaluated and possibly tweaked.

>I’ll be taking a look at it tomorrow: it’s too late at the moment to do more than remove the errant HTML code. In the meantime, it might as well go up<

Identities and Wealth: Skills of the Quantum Worlds

While there are many unique skills scattered across the near-infinite realms of the Quantum Manifold, relatively few of them deal with the nature of the realms themselves – or are especially vital to most characters. Here are two of the ones that are: Continue reading

House of Roses Package Deal

This is a preliminary Package Deal design for the Federation-Apocalypse Campaign: Special Agent for the House of Roses, the deposed British Monarchy of centuries hence. Equipped with enormous wealth, influence, and their own exotic resources, the House offers a very sophisticated package deal indeed – and, since most of the characters have elected to work for the House, here are the details. Continue reading

Federation-Apocalypse Gadgetry II: Small Arms

While there are hundreds of different types of small arms in common use in the core, here are Continue reading

Toshi Ranbo, Circa 1124

   Toshi Ranbo City Map

Toshi Ranbo stands atop a modest rise a few miles away from the Ryugawa (Dragon River), just above the floodplains. Thanks to the meandering of the river – a few generations ago it passed by Continue reading

Benedict, Swordsman of the Manifold

Benedict is a character from the Federation-Apocalypse campaign. This version has been slightly “tweaked” – primarily by Continue reading

Common Federation-Apocalypse Gadgets

In the Federation-Apocalypse setting the “Gadgets” skill covers the number of personal devices that you can haul around with you and – usually – extend your personal ability to adapt to new realms to. Some of the more common gadgets are listed below, starting off with what may be the most ubiquitous of all…

   Smartclothes can alter Continue reading

The Quantum Realms: Souls and Mana

Professor Arthorius, Continued:

Souls remain a mystery. While we can now demonstrate their existence, detect and influence them, and even bind them for a time or transfer them from body to body, we still cannot say what they are or where they come from. We do know that they Continue reading

Legends of the Five Rings

Since Brian would still like to join in the Friday sessions, I’ve set up a voice-over-IP link to the gaming table. We’ll see if that’s enough to make it possible at tonight’s session. If it doesn’t work out, I’ll try some adjustments and look around for a better microphone.

Meanwhile, I’ll also be putting up a preliminary discussion of the nature of Souls and Mana in the Manifold. Since it is, however, a continuation of Professor Arthorius’s lecture, it should be considered “in character” – IE, based on insufficient information and observation, rather than on rigorous game rules. The good professor could be wrong…

An Introduction to Quantum Realities

Professor Arthorius: An Introduction to Quantum Realities.

Are the Quantum Worlds “Real”? At first glance there isn’t much of a question. When you visit a quantum world, things that should be solid are solid, colors are as vibrant as usual, you can be hurt or Continue reading

Champions Game Tonight

The Champions game will be at the UT library, starting around 7:00-7:30 as usual. We may have an interruption to our regular round of hunteds, lycanthropic legal problems, and dark wizards trying to take over the world since one of our players has a new job (Congraluations!), and – if he’d like to wind up some of his plotlines – we’ll be diverting to those for the evening.

Kevin Sanwell, Unseelie Knight

Kevin is a high-end power build for the Federation-Apocolypse Campaign. Sadly, thanks to his unsavory nature, he’ll probably need every advantage he can get. Of course, there is hope that he can rise above his demonic origins… Continue reading

Influential Reporter Sample Build

This sample build is a news reporter for the Federation-Apocalypse Campaign – an individual who provides live action-reporting of adventures in the manifold to the people back in core – and thus can influence the events she’s reporting on.

Timeline Extensions

The original Federation Timeline didn’t include a variety of background items from the distant past (since the players wouldn’t be aware of them), and – of course – didn’t include any of the major in-game events or their consequences. Since that campaign is restarting, and more information is currently available, here are some timeline updates: Continue reading

Unreality

Due to unexpected unreality, nothing for today until late in the morning – if then.

Game Announcements

The Legend of the Five Rings game will be tonight as usual (the campaign log update is in the previous post).

I’m going to make another try at getting the online connection set up at the table this evening for Brian, but even if I still can’t get decent audio there we’re going to try for a test teleconference and character setup session out of the office and home connections tomorrow evening (Saturday night) if he’s available. If we can arrange anything satisfactory that way, we may be able to get around the transportation difficulties.

L5R Campaign Log Updates

Interludes: The Sword which is No-Sword, Words Like Mist, Shadows in the Wainscotting.

With the Oracle settled down, Shigure started pushing for one of his pet projects: trying to do something about the apparently-perpetual Lion-Crane border conflict in Toshi Ranbo. It was just too hard on Continue reading
