Mar. 18th, 2016 01:19 amFive days till I leave! I have, haha, a much bigger list of things to do than I would like to have at this stage, and here is where living in Israel sucks: there is a very limited amount of time for errands on the weekends. An expat friend told me once, on a visit to Tel Aviv, that while there are things she misses in Israel, the crowds and the stress levels aren't one of them. The example she gave was Friday mornings: our weekends are Fridays and Saturdays, and everything from banks to city services to grocery stores to public transportation closes early Friday afternoon, and remains closed on Saturday. So a very large number of people end up cramming a lot of their errands to Friday morning, which causes lines and stress and general unpleasantness if you actually have things to *get done* Friday morning.
Anyway, for my own sake, a list of things to get done tomorrow morning:
( to do )
In other news, I just finished watching this week's Supergirl, and damn, I am enjoying this show and all of its tropes and relationships. ( Spoilers for 1x16 )
I also watched the second episode of Underground. Is anyone watching it? It's -- well, it's got a great cast, and it is very sleekly and beautifully produced, and it's thought-provoking: I find myself constantly trying to imagine how I'd feel about various elements were this show set during the Holocaust instead of US slavery, to gauge how my comfort levels would be affected. In any case, I am trying to read up on people's reactions and in the meantime still watching.
Errr I am also watching more things I probably want to talk about but I should go to sleep because: errands tomorrow morning. So for Crazy Ex-Girlfriend fans, I will just leave you with a recommendation for this really interesting podcast interview with Rachel Bloom, where she talks a lot about her own life and gives a lot of great insights into Rebeccah and the other characters.
