Air sirens in Tel Aviv! Fun times. I have nothing to complain about; there are, by far, people worse off than me, like, say, the Palestinian population, like every Israeli in the south whose lived under fire for the past twelve years. So you know, I'm good. I'm not even staying in Tel Aviv over the weekend. It's a little weird, and new, and I will probably post about it more. For now, I just wanted to touch base and say don't worry.

I'll try not to worry, but I'm a Liberal almost-Rabbi in Northern California so I'm going to keep checking in, okay? (Wearing a Kippah around here means everyone wants to know what I think. I can't decide if it's annoying or something else entirely.)

I'm very thankful I don't have any obligation to talk about what I think of what's going on, because forming an opinion -- 28 years into living -- is still difficult, and most people are set in their own opinions and argumentative and aren't really interested in hearing my opinion anyway.

This is actually my first time experiencing this, really. The First Gulf War happened in the exact years we were living in the US, so I never experienced this as a child... no masks this time, at least? (er, jinxjinxjinx)

Yeah, yesterday was actually just the second time in my life I've heard a for-real alarm (the first was a few years ago when I spent a few days in Sderot). Everyone else at the office were reminiscing about 1990-1991, and I had nothing.
