that time of year again

Ha, I forgot one small and important detail about yesterday's show: the guy who played Perchik, the socialist, looked like a tiny Daniel Jackson! The country has suddenly become awash with Daniel Jacksons! Not that I'm complaining, mind you.

And now for the important news: YULETIDE.

Oh my god, my [livejournal.com profile] yuletide assignment is so... wow. I really debated whether or not to put that fandom in, and then I did, and that's what happens with Yuletide, isn't it? Like, if you're not totally flummoxed, you're not doing it right. So I freaked out for about 30 seconds, and then got an idea that just might work, which is super awesome. I am not going to have an easy time finding a beta for this one, but that is all I'm going to say about the matter.

And now, A Note to my

Dear Yuletide Author,

You have excellent taste! :-) I kid. No, not really.

Oh, look at me, babbling already! It's Yuletide, I can't help it, I'm excited.

I'm not very introspective about what I like, so I'll c/p from last year's letter:

I like character interaction that seems real. I like good banter, whether serious or ridiculous, and dialogue in general... I don't know which fandom you're going for, but I'm a fan of both pairings stories and general, plot/character centric stories. I have no problems with violence or with sex - however, for the purpose of Yuletide, I don't want smut for the sake of smut. I am all for plot, less for PWP.

Specifically by fandom:

Avenue Jew - okay, I'm pretty sure you didn't actually offer to write this, but it's only 8 minutes of canon, so who knows, maybe you'll like it! Avenue Jew is a parody performed by the casts of Broadway's Fiddler on the Roof and Avenue Q, both of which are great shows, and the combination is brilliant and hilarious. You can watch it here.

Old Testament - You saw my request, but seriously, I love a great big bunch of characters in the OT, so you have a free rein (and reign! Um, both?). I adore the David/Jonathan/Joab triangle (and most people don't think of it as a triangle, but it TOTALLY IS - I have fangirled about it in the past, and it is intense. But I love so many moments - and, in fact, made a post about those too. And any of those characters or situations would work for me, if they do for you.

I pretty much said all I had to say about the other two fandoms in my requests - I adore them both, and just the thought of getting fic in either of them makes me happy. And if you have any questions or want clarifications, you can anonymous-comment me or whatever.

Okay, so, I hope that's enough information :-) Thank you so much, and I hope you're not freaking out, and have a wonderful week!

OMG YES. I am freaking out. This is exactly what happened to me. You'd think I would know better! Argh!

:-)

At least I have an idea this year - already, which surprises me, and I really really REALLY hope I don't procrastinate too much this year. I finished my first yuletide fic a few days before deadline and ran it through a couple of betas! It is possible. Somehow.
