NCIS 6x01, House 5x02

One of the most enjoyable premiers as of yet. I was surprised by how fun it was to meet these characters again - like meeting old friends after a long time. Below the cut, fairly squeeful reactions as I watched.

-Holy christ, Ziva! That girl can sing.

-eeee bomb! Awesome.

-Poor Gibbs with his new team! Agent Asshole makes me like Lee. A lot. (Whoa, did she break up with Jimmy? What's with the forlorn gave at the crime scene?)

-GIBBS AND ABBY! Oh, how much I've missed you. Abby giving Gibbs a deadline without an actual ultimatum = ♥ ♥ ♥. And use the elevator.

-I love the fact that they only find out about Ziva's injury through the news.

-McGee having people calling him "boss"! Hee. Poor guy, cooped up in the basement.

-WHY IS ZIVA'S DAD ACTING LIKE THE GODFATHER. Creeeeepy.

-Oh, no, Vance. Please tell me you did not break up the team - the best fucking team you have - and scatter them all over the globe - just so you can wait one hundred and twenty six days to tell Gibbs the real reason you broke them up. That's not being a smart leader, that's being a DICK. (Also, I'd be very surprised if Agent Asshole were the traitor, since he seems like the obvious choice, so it's either the new McGee or Lee. I really hope it's not Lee, even though she'd be the bigger surprise.)

-Vance: "I thought your radar would go off about one of them"?! JESUS CHRIST, VANCE.

-Vance again: "Thank you, McGee - keep Agent Gibbs in the loop." Oh, thank you for throwing him a bone, you're so kind. Honestly, there was no way Vance could think of to catch this person without manipulating Gibbs? Arrgh.

-Eee he misses her with CAPSLOCK! So. Cute.

-Tony! I didn't know how happy I'd be to see you, but, oh, Tony. "I AM NEVER ALONE!" *squishes* And the self-headsmack. I missed you guys.

-McGee: "Don't be such a girl." I love Tony's expression after that.

-"Dinozzo." "...Pa?" "Take care of yourself." "I miss you too." THIS IS WHY I LOVE THIS SHOW! Seriously. Love. <3<3<3 Loud and vocal displays of affection FTW.

-Oh, man I feel bad for Lee. It seems too early in the episode for her to actually be the traitor, and she seems so credible, and (and okay, I know what it's like to be interrogated by your people just a little because there may have been a thing in the army where I was kind of accused of stealing grenades long story ANYWAY) it has to be awful for her, both now and later if she clears her name, to be working with people she knows don't trust her.

-Whoa, it was Asshole? ...Or was it? We don't really know what happened in that room, although I'm going with it was Asshole because I really don't want it to be Lee. Okay. Aw, Gibbs, everyone's dad... I hope they apologize to her later.

-Hey, look at that, Jerusalem! Um, sure. That's where Mossad headquarters are. (Although obviously I'm glad they didn't film the actual headquarters *g*).

-Okay, so Vance and Eli (or Ilai, the way Vance pronounced it) are BFFs, it seems. Down to the "Shalom Aleichem" greeting which, for the record, is not a greeting at all. It literally means "Peace be upon you" (plural), and it appears in prays and songs, not in real life conversation. If they wanted exotic, they could have gone with "Ahalan".

Ziva's dad's accent is still creeeeping me out. Maybe he's originally Russian? It totally doesn't fit the profile for his age and position, but possible.

"Use her well, Leon. Ziva is the sharp end of the spear." Ugh. I really don't like Ziva's dad. And I don't like the way they always portray anything Israeli with such drama. And like Vance and David are always the good guys who are supposed to win. And like Ziva is just a tool that her father created, with no choice in the matter. (Okay, so she was probably somewhat brainwashed as a child, but still.)

-I was going to say, "Wow, Lee's a forgiving girl", but then the last scene! Ha. Nice. Man, though, too bad. She was really cute this episode. And I'm... not really sorry she ended up killing Agent Asshole, I have to say.

In conclusion:

I love this show.

PS. Gibbs, do something about your hair.

...And later I will watch House. Yay.

ETA: Have watched House!

House 5x02: I love the PI - do we have a name for him? Until we do, I'm going to call him PI Dancer, after remembering him fondly s Private Dancer from Scrubs. Anyway, I really loved him - he's funny and smart and a genuine dork (I really don't think it's an act, at least not most of it. Maybe the socks.), and his interaction with House is great. Because they could be friends, and he acts like a friend, but he doesn't hide the fact hat he's getting paid for it, and. It's sad. He tells House what he wants to hear and then charges him (a buckload of money) for it, and it especially broke my heart when they were standing in the observation gallery and he said the surgery was "Cool" with an expression of "who gives a shit?".

I would also not be surprised if it turned out Wilson was paying him money to tell House that Wilson wasn't talking about him. Because if Wilson really isn't talking about House, then dude. Talk about unhealthy repression.

The other OCs were cool too. Random Cafeteria Doc and House should totally become BFFs, or at least lunch & babysitting buddies, and I love how he just went along with House. House just has this reputation in the hospital of being a pest, probably, where people figure out if they play along he'll go away faster.

Cuddy - it's like we're back in season 1 again. When was the last time House majorly fucked up in a diagnosis? Hasn't she learned to trust him yet?

Kutner - has become the new Chase, but we knew that already. He's the guy with all the weird, unexpected ideas that House likes. While Chase... remind me why he's in the credits again? Sigh.

House visiting Wilson's apartment - heartbreak. I could feel how furious Wilson was when House tossed the money into his apartment. And at this point, the only thing that can heal those two is time, which House doesn't seem to get. It's surprising how socially awkward House is, here. I always imagined that if he ever wanted to, he could be suave and manipulate people and be normal, and he just never saw the need. Instead, now when he needs it most, he's really just clueless as to how to make things between him and Wilson right again.

About the ending of the episode - I'll just quote [livejournal.com profile] queenzulu, because she said what I was thinking except a lot funnier than me:

House: How do I look?
Me: You have the BEAUTIFULEST BLUEST EYES OMG. They're, like, azure orbs. Cerulean pools! They're piercing and laser-like and--
Episode: *ends*
Me: That's...it? WORST PACING EVER.

I don't know whether it comes off here or not, but I really liked this episode. And I'm even looking forward to fic, which I haven't for a long time. Yay HL :-)
