Ummm...
From Action Comics #835:

I actually have no idea what the context is. This takes place a few issues before One Year Later, and I only read it to have some background before reading those, skimming for the interesting bits, and then... well, this was interesting.

So: who are these people? What do they have to do with Jimmy Olsen? What is up?
Bonus: Apparently, according to Wikipedia, the DC "Guardians of the Universe" were modeled after David Ben Gurion, which does not fail to crack me up. I don't know it it's true, but come on, it's totally true:

I mean, I love Batman, but the Bats is a nutjob, no doubt about it.

Actually, though, my favorite by a wide margin is Nightwing, the Former Boy Wonder himself, Dick Greyson. How he managed to stay so normal while being raised by Bruce is beyond me. Of course the fact that he looks really good half naked and chained up does nothing to hurt his appeal.

Nightwing is nghhhhhhh. Awesome. Esp. Nightwing/Dark Knight slash. HOMG..

That said, one of my favorite Nightwing stories is one where there is a nuclear bonb threat in NYC and the teen titans respond. Dick being Dick, he tows it out into space because he doesn't want any of the other team members to be in that kind of danger and the thing blows up.
Bruce being Bruce, he reassembles Dick's molecules but it doesn't quite work. Because Dick is now dickless. The story is currently something like 80 chapters long and isn't even close to finished. I'm not sure it ever will be. Anyway, what I love about it is it's a very realistic look at what would happen if you had an unwanted sex change operation, from having to relearn how to go to the bathroom, to dealing with the fact that you're a foot shorter and have a different center of gravity. Bruce is, of course, totally thrown, because all of a sudden his "son" is a hot 23 year old girl and Dick does't understand why Bruce is behaving so weirdly.
And that was a total ramble.

...pretty much that you are awesome. I love that no matter how much Clark idolizes Lois and is willing to move heaven and earth for her, beyond all reason, in a totally excessive and obsessive way that has led to some level of destruction - even then, she's never (well, from the little I've read) a pristine woman-to-be-rescued that he keeps on a pedestal. She's still Lois, who... bosses him around and buys him lunch and is a much better reporter than him.
my favorite by a wide margin is Nightwing
Ditto. And it really, really sucks that i've finally started reading issues from the past two years and the characterization is weird and the art is butt-ugly. It really makes me cringe.

If you're interested, I can hook you up with some great fic. For whatever reason, I don't have any interest in comic slash for the most part. I tend to prefer stories that have action along with great character interaction. (Although my favorite Nightwing story may be heading toward slash, sort of, assuming the author ever finishes.)
