#BookReview ~ Beverlee Beaz meets Lowree Louise, the Blue Burmese by Regan W. H. Macaulay ~ Children's Picture Book, Fantasy, Adventure ~ @mirrorworldpub @ReganWHMacaulay

Mirror World Publishing and Sapphyria's Book Promotions present the 1-week book tour for Beverlee Beaz meets Lowree Louise, the Blue Burmese by Regan W. H. Macaulay

About Beverlee Beaz meets Lowree Louise, the Blue Burmese:

Beverlee Beaz, the brown Burmese, longs to share her creative adventures with someone special. When she meets her new sister, Lowree Louise, the blue Burmese, she knows she has found a true friend with whom to play imagination games…if only she can teach the little kitty how.

Join Beverlee in her latest tale as she mentors her sister in the ways of imagination.

Genre: Children's Picture Book, Fantasy, Adventure

Page Count: 53 pages

My Review:

Beverlee Beaz, the Brown Burmese gets a sister! Her excitement lifts off the pages of this new story. Beverlee is still a very imaginative cat and she wants to share her adventures. When Lowree Louise, the Blue Burmese joins the family, Beverlee is excited to take her on adventures throughout the areas around her home. Lowree Louise needs a bit of training in the art of imagination, but Beverlee uses patience and other methods for getting Lowree Louise's creative juices flowing.

Children will love Beverlee and Lowree as they romp through areas filled with flora and fauna pretending each plant or animal is something else, including magical creatures. The pages are illustrated with vibrant, fun pictures. The author and illustrator have done an excellent job bringing Beverlee and Lowree, and their adventures, to life.

I was provided with a copy of this book. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

#Novella #Review ~ A Moment in Eternity from award-winning author Stephen Zimmer @sgzimmer ~ #Fantasy #Adventure #FantasyAdventure

My Review:

A Moment in Eternity captured my attention from the very beginning and kept me engaged. The author did a great job writing an interesting, action-packed, and intense novella. The story is well-paced; not too fast or too slow. The dialogue is smooth and understandable. The world building is descriptive and played out like a movie. I enjoyed meeting Hongvi. The author wrote a Hongvi in a wonderful and relatable way. I loved how he was a strong, compassionate, and fearless character.

I was provided a copy of this book to read.

My Rating:

About A Moment In Eternity:

The people of his tribe call Hongvi the Shadow Walker.

A great warrior and hunter with a traumatic past, his courage is unrivaled among the Shinumu people.

When tales arrive of giants roving the plains to the east of the great canyons, where his tribe dwells in villages built into the facings of cliffs, Hongvi does not hesitate to undertake a journey alone to investigate.

Yet the threat of giants is not the only peril facing the tribe…

A great darkness is coalescing to the south, in the lands of the Dinay, the enemy of the Shinumu. Rumors abound of sorcerous priests steeped in blood sacrifice who have come from foreign lands to rule.

A Moment in Eternity is a stand-alone novella that is part of the Hongvi Shadow Walker Tales!

My Review:

City of Ruby is a wonderful young adult science-fiction novel. Yukari Namikoya is now part of the remaining group of allies hiding below earth after the fall of the Kingdom of Taiyou. The new leader of Taiyou, Lady Lilyth rules the streets with thoughts of grandeur. Complete control or systematic destruction are the only acceptable options. To secure freedom for herself and her allies, Yukari travels to the Ruby City in an effort to discover secrets hidden for years.

I enjoyed this young adult, scifi, fantasy novel by J. A. Dowsett. The story is well-written and I was engaged from the very beginning. The character development progresses well as Yukari's story is told. The world building allows the reader the visualize the story and feel the emotions of the characters. You can't help but get pulled in and root for Yukari. The Yukari's character is strong, cast into a role that makes her a savior.

City of Ruby is a fun adventure full of action.

Exclusive Excerpt:

The inhuman screams of the Lillem were repeated from various directions and I wasted no time, whirling to face the person I had just saved.

“Yukari?” The exchange student was regarding me wide-eyed, no doubt shocked by what he had just witnessed.

I took his reaction in stride at first, grabbing hold of his arm to pull him away from here, but then I realized what he had just said. He knew my name…

Perhaps he had heard it in the classroom this morning, but even if he had that still didn’t explain the familiarity with which he had spoken it. That accent, so memorable, speaking my name; I was certain I had heard it before.

“Masaru,” I responded and his name, who he was, and how much he meant to me came flooding back all at once, as if whatever had tried to keep the information from me hadn’t been enough to contain it forever.

This was Masaru. My Knight, my Roughlander, and the love of my life – how could I ever have forgotten him?  It just didn’t seem possible, but then again none of this had made any sense since the beginning.

The red fog was swirling everywhere now, but it didn’t leave me unable to function like it had before. It also didn’t seem internal any longer, but instead it threatened to destroy the landscape before me, eating at the floor and the walls here and there, making them look less than solid.

Masaru was studying me curiously, as if he was battling his own inner fog. The expression on his face was so familiar to me and I realized I had seen it before. I had left Masaru behind once because he couldn’t remember who he was back at the Roughlander Sanctioned Outpost in Taiyou. I had left him there and it had resulted in him almost losing his life to Fuzen.

This time Fuzen lay dead on the floor behind me, but I could hear the Lillem scratching at the door now, trying to break it down to get to us – their prey. I wasn’t going to leave him behind again, no matter what; I had promised I would always keep him safe.

“Masaru,” I said his name once more as behind me I heard the door crash inwards to admit the hoard of Lillem.

He met my eyes, his expression muddled as he struggled to regain his own will and memories. I willed him to succeed, but I could hear the Lillem behind us now as they scrabbled across the room, their talons clacking ominously along the tiled floor. Memories flooding back to me steadily now, I did what I had done the last time to try and snap him out of his haze and kissed him full on the lips.

It worked; I could feel it as Masaru returned the kiss with feeling.

It lasted only a moment, which was all we had time for before the Lillem reached us. I pulled back from him and gave him a push forward. “Go!”

My Review:

Sex, Bugs, & UFOs is an exciting SciFi novel. Morrissey comes home from school one afternoon, explaining how he's being teased about his mother's past. His knowledge of her experiences with aliens distresses her. His mom abandons him the very next day. He's spent many years trying to understand why she left, to no avail.

After the death of a nursing home resident and the approach of a conniving former coworker, Morrisey is suddenly thrust back into the world of the unknown. It appears the death of Ruth opens a cold case back up from his Ministry of Defense (MOD) days. He's soon the target of several people, and none of them good.

I love the author's writing style. The dialogue is crisp, natural, conversational, and flows well. The pacing of the story is perfect; not too fast and not too slow. Each scene is crafted well and the world building allowed me to envision the setting, characters, and events that take place.

I was engaged in Sex, Bugs and UFOs from the very beginning of the book. I was drawn in by the mystery behind Morrisey's mother leaving, the connection between an old cold-case and the recent death of Ruth, and the involvement and secrecy of those in Morrisey's life. The book is full of twists, turns, and conspiracies. I couldn't put the book down. Highly recommended for lovers of SciFi Action Adventure stories.

I was provided a copy of this book to read.

Meet the Author:

Warren A. Shepherd was seven when he first realized the world didn’t fit him quite right. Two sizes too big or two sizes too small, he couldn’t be sure. But having been transported from the streets of London, England to the streets of Toronto, Canada at such a young age left him with a profound sense of alienation — a boy with one foot in each world yet belonging in neither. The experience, however, did sharpen his sense of self-awareness and made him a keen observer of the human (and not-so-human) condition.

When he sees what humankind is capable of, both the good and the bad, he imagines how we would cope amongst the stars and is driven to tell stories of strange new worlds to try to explain the one that he often cannot.

After all, it takes an alien to know an alien…
