Floyd Unit Records is a Roman independent label founded in 2014 by Gianluca Lorusso, the producer of SINC. Conceived as a personal outlet rather than a conventional label, Floyd Unit has become the home of the SINC catalog: a body of work ranging from dark techno to soulful house to club electronica, built over a decade of releases, DJ support, and dancefloor presence.
The label's output has spanned various formats and phases, from its first vinyl releases to a fully digital effort, without losing its core identity: music crafted with an analog sensibility, designed for DJs and intended to last beyond its release window.
The current effort reflects two parallel trajectories. On the one hand, a series of restored and remastered SINC archive material, sourced from the project's formative years and carefully treated to preserve the texture and character of the original recordings. On the other hand, the new SINC productions, while maintaining the roots that have defined the sound that has helped make the SINC name a global presence and a presence at the most iconic club events of the last 15 years, are moving toward a more contemporary sound: vocal, analog in spirit, with a retro-futuristic indie-dance quality that marks a deliberate evolution of the project.
Floyd Unit Records operates as a focused independent laboratory rooted in contemporary electronic music: production is guided by a personal creative process rather than release schedules, shaped by a self-taught approach that has nevertheless developed a precise and uncompromising editorial sensibility. "Mono" by design and Intentionally "Raw" for character, the label holds itself to a standard defined by conviction: nothing leaves a mark unless it's worth supporting.
