What does it feel to ensure families and businesses have electricity? Érica knows it very well, she lives it every day as a network maintenance electrician. In this video, she takes us in the lorry she drives to power lines, utility poles and transformers, reinforcing the network that keeps the city running. Always with safety as the main priority, Érica does a sometimes invisible work, but critical to everyone’s lives. As she describes, when energy comes the world lights up, and that’s how her work starts. #EDPWeChooseEarth #WattsInside

On August 12, a rare solar eclipse will temporarily affect solar generation across parts of Europe. 🌑✨ Visible from Greenland and Iceland to Spain and Portugal, with partial views across much of Europe and North America, the eclipse is a reminder of why the energy transition relies on more than a single technology. When solar generation dips, a resilient energy system keeps power flowing. Hydropower, battery storage, wind generation and smart grids work together to balance supply and demand, helping ensure reliability when conditions change. Decarbonisation isn't just about generating clean energy. It's about building a flexible, integrated energy system that works every hour of every day. The Sun may take a brief pause. The energy transition doesn't. 🌍 #EDPWeChooseEarth #SolarEclipse

What happens when nature and engineering work in perfect sync? In this episode of Watts Inside, Sérgio takes us inside the Alqueva power plant, where he has spent 10 years helping transform the power of water into electricity. From tunnels and turbines to 400,000-volt connections, he shows us the scale of technology behind hydroelectric energy production. But at the heart of it all is still nature. Because, in the end, everything starts with a single drop of water. #EDPWeChooseEarth #WattsInside

With 12 MW of power and 12 MWh of storage capacity, EDP’s latest project with Bondalti is now operational: the largest battery energy storage system installed at an industrial site in Portugal. The system will help Bondalti respond more efficiently to changing energy needs, maximise the use of locally generated renewable energy and strengthen the flexibility and resilience of its operations. By combining renewable generation, battery storage, electrical infrastructure and smart energy management, the project shows how integrated energy solutions can support the decarbonisation of energy-intensive industries. As electrification accelerates, this ability to manage energy more intelligently will be key to building a cleaner, more resilient and competitive industry. Watch the video to discover how this partnership is supporting Bondalti’s energy transition. #EDPWeChooseEarth

EDP is successfully implementing its strategy by converting long-term investments in networks, renewable energy, and electrification into sustainable value creation. In the first half of 2026, recurring EBITDA increased by 5% year-on-year to €€2,729 million. This growth was driven by strong performance in both the renewables and networks sectors, the latter benefiting from new regulatory periods in Iberia. Meanwhile, recurring net profit remained stable at €753 million. Additionally, operational efficiency improved, with recurring operating expenses (Opex) decreasing by 3%. The rising electricity demand across Iberia further strengthens the long-term fundamentals of our business plan. In Portugal, demand is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.5%, with approximately 60% of this growth attributed to data centres. This underscores the essential role of electricity networks and renewable energy in facilitating the region's digital and economic development. As electrification continues to accelerate, we remain committed to disciplined execution and to creating the infrastructure necessary for future growth. This strong performance in the first half of the year has led us to revise our 2026 guidance, raising it above the targets we presented at our Capital Markets Day. Behind every EDP asset, there are people whose expertise keeps the energy transition moving forward every day. They are at the heart of everything we do. That's the inspiration behind The Heart of Our Energy, EDP's new global video series celebrating the people behind our Renewable Generation Assets and the role they play in delivering operational excellence, driving innovation and creating lasting value for the communities where we operate. Our journey starts in Indiana, US, where we spend a day on site with Jay, Plant Lead Technician at Carpenter Wind. Through his daily routine, we discover how renewable energy and local farming work side by side, creating long-term value for surrounding communities. 🎬 Watch the first episode below. #EDPWeChooseEarth #TheHeartOfOurEnergy
