Friends by chance

I saw an interesting picture in an impromptu poetry prompt yesterday, and decided to write something about it. I scribbled my poem on a piece of paper and it was ready in 15 minutes. 🙂  Here’s the picture and the poem. 😉

Friends by Chance

Strangers from afar
Chance encounters
Of broken hearts
And hollow souls
Disenchanted minds
Pouring their hearts out
Sharing disappointments
Drowning their sorrows
Discovering kindred spirits
Becoming lifelong friends

Illusions

For my 9th post for the  Blogging A to Z Challenge, I decided to write a poem on illusions and perceptions that all too often colour our lives.

I for ILLUSIONS

Illusions

Our lives regarded
Coloured and painted
Viewed from our mind’s eye
Senses, our attention vie

Visions of you
From my point of view
Real or mere illusion?
Clear or clouded with delusion?

Visions of me
Will you let me be?
Unchanged and carefree
Unrealistic expectations, bury

Life is what we make of it
With sufficient wisdom, well lit
Think we are happy, so we are
Think we are not, discontent mars

Why be unhappy, discontented, sad?
Life is lived once, don’t make it bad
Be hopeful; In all things, see goodness
Fill your heart with joy and gladness
