Stanley Chaplin was born in around 1901. His father, Frederick, is listed in the census returns as being a 'hatter'. Before she married, Lizzie Bentley was a barmaid in The Little Swan, Wolverhampton. The couple had another son. Frederick junior became a legal clerk. Young Stanley died in 1909 – a year before his father.
