<p>Laranjal opened in 2009 and was voted Best Golf Course at the 2011 Portuguese Travel Awards. Originally an orange grove, the par 72 championship course is situated 2 km east of the resort, in the Ludo Valley. Boasting spectacular fairways and welldefined greens, Laranjal is renowned for its five beautiful lakes, umbrella pines, corkoaks and orange trees. At 6,480 metres in length, the challenging course demands the highest level of concentration and accuracy. Its distinctive rolling terrain has been expertly designed and manicured to provide a worldclass golfing experience. Featuring five par 5s, eight par 4s and five par 3s, the course is sown with Bermuda grass on the fairways and Penn A4 on the greens, ensuring excellent putting surfaces throughout the year. <p>Areora I is situated on the Setubal Peninsula 30 minutes from Lisbon. The Golf Course was designed by Frank Pennink in 1972. <p>Framed by a valley that meanders through the course creating some undulating fairways, the Golf Santo Antonio course at Parque da Floresta is an impressive arena that has already been the stage for the prestigious Europro Tour. Santo Antonio Golf Course is situated near the fishing village of Salema, near Sagres one of the most important places in Portuguese and European history and close to the Costa Vicentina nature reserve. An undulating course with some sloping fairways, particularly on the front nine. Small well bunkered greens, many near lakes on the back nine, requiring a good degree of accuracy. The course is perfectly integrated into the landscape. The Golf Santo Antonio Golf Course was designed by Pepe Gancedo, one of Spain´s most famous architects, whose philosophy of golf course construction involves minimal alteration to the existing terrain. <p>The 18 hole Nick Faldo Golf Course is located close to the village of Amendoeira and it is impressive to play and has the challenges to be a real talking point in the Algarve with so many courses in the region this it is no mean feat. In a modern twist of a traditional recipe, cacti and wild herbs replace the role of heather, attractive oaks and ancient olive trees take the place of a lush woodland, and desert scrub bunkers of crushed limestone replace the Berkshire sandy tracts in a golf course that revels in the classic principles of strategic play.   With strategic play in mind, the course asks for careful positioning to score well. <p>As you arrive at this stunning location around an hours drive north of Portugal's capital city, Lisbon, you immediately know you are in for an incredible round of golf. As you near the course the road gives way to stunning sand dunes and clifftops that break into the Atlantic Ocean. A buggy is a must here unless you are a mountain goat and the first few holes encircle the first, and largest, of 3 lakes. You couldn't really call the course a traditional links course although holes 6 through 8 and 10 through 12 are as close as you can get without being on the beach itself and the wind can cause all kinds of challenges for those who are not used to links golf play.</p> <p>If you keep it straight and low in the wind the front 9 can leave you with a warm fuzzy feeling and the scenery is stunning. The back 9 plays away from the beach and can give your drives a real helping hand, which comes as a blessing on the long 13th, the back 9 also offers an extra hazard of brush between the tee and fairway so you need to make sure you're hitting the target as if you find yourself in the light sand and dense gorse bushes, finding your ball will be the least of your worries.</p> West Cliffs Golf Course

<p>ÁLAMOS GOLF COURSE This is an impressive golf test. Although the length of the round is relatively short, Álamos Golf Course is a constant challenge. With 18 holes, this is a fairly technical but narrow course, with greens that are smaller and very elaborate, undulating. With superb views towards the hills of Serra de Monchique, lakes and farmland, this course produces relaxation and peacefulness. While a shorter course than Morgado Golf Course (Par 71) the sister course, it has all the necessary features to meet the expectations of the most demanding player. <p>An 18 hole course near Carvoeiro in the Algarve. It was originally a nine hole course which has been extended and cleverly redesigned to become a fully fledged interesting 18hole course. A formidable challenge to its designer! The course covers undulating terrain with olive, almond and carob trees scattered as planted years before by the local farmers. The Gramacho Course is designed for the player to be technically accurate and to know which club to choose before hitting the ball. <p>  South Course is the crown jewel of Quinta do Lago. Designed in 1974 by William Mitchell, who introduced Americanstandard greens, tees and bunkers to the Algarve. Soon the course gained a prestigious reputation and became a flagship in the European Tour Course. A favourite among European tour players, the 6,500 metre par 72 is set among umbrella pines, lakes and wild flowers, overlooking the serene Ria Formosa National Park. South Course has hosted the Portuguese Open eight times, including Colin Montgomerie&rsquos win in 1989. Having won 24 under par, he finished 11 strokes ahead and broke the world record with a round of 63. Its championship status however does not deter the amateur golfer. While the 8th, 15th and 18th are testing holes for low handicap players, the course&rsquos varying difficulty challenges golfers of all levels and abilities. Accurate tee shots are essential for reaching the greens, as the variety of doglegs and strategically located hazards increases the course&rsquos difficulty. The front nine holes, which wind their way through the parkland, favour a draw. While the back nine, which loop around the lake, favour a fade from the tea.</p> Quinta do Lago (South)

<p>The 9hole Vale de Milho Golf Course is a very friendly and a family orientated par3 course with nine holes close to the coastal village of Carvoeiro. Being only 926 metres in length it is an excellent course for beginners to practice and regular players to improve on their short game.
