I don’t believe Dr Burgess understands domestic abuse. The system is broken and these men get a slap I. The hand. Over and over they walk away with very little consequences for what they have done to their victim. Maybe some women don’t show up because if “love” but it’s fear and knowing that their perpetrator will be right back to terrorizing them so it’s safer to walk away.
