Let there be light!

I was searching through my craft room for something
entirely different but came across a drawer full of
tea light candles and decided to make some little
 boxes to hold one.
These will go to our local St. Vincent de Paul shop
and help me use up loads of paper!!!

It holds one of the small candles (Ikea).

I did a tutorial here if you fancy cutting into
some stash!

Measurements needed to make one
Base - 7 6/8" x 7 6/8"
Score on all four sides at
5/8", 1 1/4", 1 7/8", 2 4/8"
Belly Band - 2 3/4" + one wee notch x 8 1/4"

I used old paper scraps from SU, two daisy punches (SU),
card candi,  and red ink from my blending brush.

Another tea light box idea

So on my mission to use up my tea lights and my retired papers
I have come up with this little box.
Simple enough and easily adjusted to fit whatever size you might need.

You can watch my video here.
Please hit the subscribe button and help me build my numbers 😍

For this one I have used my love retired papers again
but the flower has been stamped using the lovely
Daisy Lane stamp set and matching punches large and medium.
The ink is grapefruit grove from a retired in colour a few years ago.

Measurements needed to follow along
Box - 3 5/8" x 7 6/8"
Score short side at 6/8" on both sides
Score long side -  6/8", 3 1/2", 4 1/4", 7"
Belly Band - 7" x 1 1/2"

So my hand is much better but still have to put splint on
for a few hours a day.
I have been enjoying walking around golf course
as hubby plays his golf.
It is so beautiful out there and it's a nice change from the back garden.
Mother nature has worked her magic right on my doorstep.

Use your stash!

With taking a rest from crafting my mind was full of ideas
to use up what stash I have and this is one of them.
I designed a little box to hold my metal candle holders
which I picked up (quite a lot) from Ikea.
They were greatly reduced and I thought I'd use them for something
but they just lay in the bottom drawer!

So here is what I made.
The candle holder has been stamped in  stazon
and the boxes have been made using my retired paper stash.

You can watch my video here

This size of box also fits the 2 1/4" candles.

Measurements needed to follow along
Paper - 8 1/2" x 3 3/4"
Score long side - 2 3/4", 3 1/2", 6 1/4", 7"
Score short side - 3/4" both sides

Tea Light box in Forever Lovely

Only 2 days left for Sale-A-Bration!!
Links below

This is the candle box I made to match yesterday's card.
I used the same dsp teamed up with crumb cake card.
The little poem inside is off google and is perfect for
giving to someone who has just lost a family member.

How I made the Candle Box
1. Cut piece of crumb cake card 9 1/4" x 4 " and score at 4", turn and score at 4"
Fold to form a book shape.
2. Cut DSP 3 6/8" square (3 pieces) 1 1/8" x 3 6/8" (2 pieces)
3.  Cut a 6 1/4"  square of crumb cake.
Score at 1/2", 1 1/2". Turn and repeat on all sides.
Score and cut waste away. Using circle die 2 7/8" in centre of score lines.
This fits the older Ikea round candle holder. Adjust to suit your own candle.
3. Add double sided tape as in pic below and add your ribbon.
Seal up final edge using wet glue.
4. Finish forming the box shape.
5. Cut a piece of crumb cake 8cm square to seal bottom of your box.
6. Cut two pieces of ribbon 10" long. Add double sided tape to front
of your book shape and stick the ribbon. Glue your dsp to cover the front and ribbon.
Add double sided tape to inside left for other ribbon, and cover with dsp.
7. Adhere your spines and insides with dsp.
8. Glue your candle box in place on right hand side of book.
9. Decorate the front by punching two pretty labels in cake crumb.
10. Type out your sentiment (or stamp it) in matching hex colours
and punch using the pretty label punch.
11. Add sentiment to one label using dimensionals and glue second one so it shows at bottom.
12. Stamp 3 flowers in lovely lipstick, and 6 leaves in soft sea foam and cut out.
Add to front of your box.
