Rough it up!

It's time for my midway post for our challenge over at
where the theme is add texture or anything goes.

For my Christmas tag I cut my base in white card
and then matted it with some woodgrain paper (SU)
which I had ran through my plank embossing folder, (SU),
and then wrapped some lace around it.
I then ran the tag through my sewing machine
for some extra texture.
Next I die cut two hearts using a Spellbinders
set. The small heart was ran through a
dotty embossing folder and I then swiped some
white ink on the raised dots.
The larger heart was embossed using a
snowflake stencil and crystal paste.
I then added some die cut snowflakes using
a Tutti die set and finished them with some
gems. The words were stamped and cut
and positioned in place.
I finished it off with some white tulle.

Next up is my ATC. Lots of texture going on here.
So I started of with some heavy brown paper
from a Basic Grey set.
I stencilled on some crystal paste to the base
and then used some marigold embossing powder
to the bottom half and heat embossed it.
I then wrapped some twine around it.
Next I cut the coffee cup from an old paper set (SU)
along with some coffee beans.
The sentiment and spoon were stamped using the
Latte Love stamp set (SU) and all
added to my ATC.

Texture at Tag Tuesday

Our challenge theme over at

TAG TUESDAY

has been chosen by Wendy and she wants us to use

lots of texture!

For my tag I embossed the tag with a pinewood planks folder.

I inked around the edges with cinnamon cider.

I die cut two trees and glued them on.

I added some star sequins in red

then stamped and die cut the deer.

Before adding to the tag I covered the bottom in gesso

for a snowy effect, but it didn't look great.

So I added glue and sprinkled some fake snow.

I then added the deer with 3d foam.

Seriously, it just never stopped!!

My card today is another Sympathy card

Pinewood Planks Embossing folder,
a definite favourite of mine.
The fancy borders are from the Ornate Layers dies.

Daisy Lane at Stamping Sensations

It's has been a very rough week for our family as we sadly lost our big sister
to a heart attack on Tuesday at tea time.

Today also happens to be my 40th Wedding Anniversary.
Hard to believe, I know lol.
I am taking off for a few days with my lovely husband
and we will try and settle ourselves down after our tragic loss.
But hopefully I will be back to the swing of life again on Thursday
(on my blog at least).
