Using up some scraps!

I took a tear at my scrap box which was
looking way to full!!

The scraps were not overly big but some
were big enough to create a few
no glue paperclip book/page markers.

They slide perfectly onto a page.

These are the scraps I used.
You can make them any width you want but
you need at least 5 1/2" long.

You can watch a quick tutorial here

Items used:
Scraps from my box
Paperclips, stamps (SU)
Embellishments I had previously made.

Double post

It's time for our midway post for our challenge at
where the optional theme is
Inspired by nature.

We do have two amazing prizes up for grabs so
be sure and join us this month.
Just be sure and stamp!

For my card I used a stamps and stencil from the
IndigoBlu Mixed Media Special 11.
I stencilled my background using the leaf stencil
in yellow ink.
I then stamped the flower repeatedly across
the bottom of my card.
Using markers I coloured the foliage and then
using acrylic markers I coloured the
flower heads so none of the yellow
would show through.
I then ran this piece through my sewing machine.
When attached to my card base I
stamped the sentiment from the same set.
I then stamped, punched and coloured the
butterfly using an SU set called
Butterfly Gala, and stuck in place.

midway post over at
where the optional theme is
SPRING.

We also have two lovely prizes here too
so come and join us!

My card was made for my Mother-in-law
for Easter.
I used the IndigoBlu Mixed Media Special 11
for my card here too.
I stamped my bunny and foliage on
my card mat then masked off the bunny.
The background was stencilled in green using
the leaf stencil.
I then coloured up my bunny and added
colour to the foliage using markers.
I ran the mat through my sewing machine.
Next I stamped the sentiment
from an SU set called Welcome Easter.
I inked around the edges in green
and stuck in place.

Tag and ATC

I have a tag for our midway post over at
where the optional theme is
blossoms, butterflies and birds.

For my tag I used an old set from SU called
Framed Florets. The shape of my tag was cut
using two of the dies in the set.
I then cut an oval, stamped my flowers onto it
and layered behind the green oval.
I stamped the flowers again, cut them out,
coloured them with markers
and layered them onto the tag.
I stamped the sentiment in yellow ink
and finished with a yellow bow and some green gems.

For my ATC I made a background on my brand new
Gelli plate. Brenda said I NEEDED one!!
I hadn't a clue what I was doing but gave
it a go anyway lol.
I used blue and yellow inks and an old SU stamp
called crackle paint to create the look.
When dry I stamped the flowers along the bottom
using an SU set called Dragonfly Garden,
and coloured them up with markers.
I then stamped, punched and coloured the
butterflies (Butterfly Gala SU) and finished with a
stamped sentiment.

Blossoms, butterflies, birds!

Our new challenge for April has started
over at
and the theme has been chosen by Brenda
and she wants to see
blossoms, butterflies and/or birds.
Plenty to go with there and you also have
the anything goes option.

For my tag I went with butterflies.
I used an old SU stamp set called
Butterfly Gala which has a matching punch.
I made my base tag in yellow
using my Tri-fold tag die.
I cut the mat in white using the next
die down and stamped it using a large
and small butterfly stamp.
I inked around the edges in blue.
I stamped and punched some extra
butterflies, coloured them with markers.
I used a scrap of the yellow for the
sentiment and stuck it across the tag.
I added the butterflies and a few
gems then finished with some bakers
twine in the matching colour.

I went with the bird theme for my ATC
and as always, I got out my inks and just
had fun making the background.
When dry I stamped the bird and music
using a stamp from AALL & Create called
Bird Collage #435.
I added white ink to the top and bottom
and stuck some bits of chicken wire,
white side facing up (SU).
I inked around the edges using a black marker
and finished with a black word which
I added white lines to with my white pen.
I did add some colour to the bird
using my markers.
I finished by splashing some white ink
over it all.

I hope you get time to join us this month.

Butterfly dreams

I took a little time out to decorate my mini book
from my tutorial last week.
This one has a butterfly theme as
I had a little drawer full of butterfly stickers.
The quotes are from an old Hunkydory Book and I
stamped a few from a set called Foliage
from AALL & CREATE and Stampin' Up! Butterfly Gala
and matching punch.

As it's so small I couldn't hold it and take photos
so you can see the insides on this
quick video.

Gift Card Purse

My stash buster project today is these little
purse type gift card holders or cash,
whatever your preference.

My first one has been laminated then stitched
which was not easy as it made it very slippery
but I like the rough look 😂
This one is obviously for a birthday.
The flowers and leaves have been stamped and coloured
with markers using a set called Floral Essence.
The paper is from my stash and is from We R Memory Keepers.

My next one I didn't laminate and the stitching was much better
but I found the card took a bit of abuse when opening
the popper closure whereas the one that was laminated
opened very easily.
This was has been made for someone passing their
driving test.
I used a stamp set from We R Memory Keepers teen angst
called road trip.

This one was my practise one and I stupidly
added my popper closure before running it through
my sewing machine and the stitching was all over the show.
So I punched out some paper daisies, cut them in half
and stuck over the stitched area.
I stamped, punched and coloured the butterflies from
a set called Butterfly Gala and the papers are from my stash.
No name but they have gorgeous glittery leaves.
I think it might have come from Lidl.

You can watch my video tutorial here

Little book of inspiration!

I made this little book for a little girl I don't see very often,
maybe just 3 times a year but she absolutely
loves to drop by and do some crafting with me.
So I thought this little book would be nice for her.
She is ten years old.

It is full of little quotes, butterflies and tags
with space to write little notes, some paper clips,
sticky notes and some cute page markers.

All tied up with some ribbon.

You can watch a quick run through here

Items used
Stamps: butterfly gala, yay you (SU)
Punches: butterfly punch, tag punch
Inks: memento, bubblebath
Papers: Delightfully Eclectic (SU)

Summer in the garden

It's time for my midway post for
where the theme is anything goes option summer garden.

I hope you get time to join us as the prizes are definitely
worth it!!

For my card today I stamped the image and then used the matching
stencils from a set called Enduring Beauty, to add colour and depth.
I chopped the finished image in half and filled
the gap with a piece of white card which I stamped
using Lisa Horton Crafts stamp called Sending you Sunshine.
I matted it onto a piece of paper from Country Woods set
and finished with some enamel hearts.
It was still looking a bit bare so I stamped, punched
and coloured the butterflies and stuck in place.
I then added some enamel pearls to the flowers.

Cluster Embellishments

Today I have made some cluster embellishments for
my cards and mini albums.

These are such good fun to make.
So quick and easy and great for using up scraps

It's been such a busy week here for us.
Between babysitting, sports days and helping with MIL it's
all go. Now hubby has sore throat so hopefully nothing comes of it!
Apparently there is a bad outbreak of COVID in the hospitals along
with the Norovirus!
Be careful out there!

Another butterfly on the wall - card 3

Happy Monday!

I am starting my week with card 3 using the sketches from
Kendra's card challenge.

This one was lovely to work with.
It is so great to be able to use so much stash up!

I have added pale papaya card to the
already cut strips.
It has been embossed using Bricks & Mortar embossing folder.
I used Ornate Layers Dies to create
the edges for each strip.
The butterflies were the ones I made a few weeks ago'
using  butterfly gala stamps, pale papaya ink and
You can watch my video here

I won't add a sentiment until
I know what I will be using the card for.

Mini Miura Card Fold

When I saw Valery's challenge this time over at
her card fold was called a Mini Miura.
I had never heard of it so had to have a go.
Valery gives all the measurements and instructions
on her blog so be sure and pop over.

I followed the instructions and made a video tutorial
for my VIP Group.
Struggled here and there lol but got there in the end.

For my card I have used
Butterfly Bijou papers
2" and 1 3/4" circle punches

We are off this afternoon with our son to do some
house viewings.
He and his wife are looking to move closer
to home, which is brilliant!
We will have all our children close to us again!
One living at home, one next door, another 5 mins away
and now Milo, hopefully about 5 mins away too!
Think I never cut my apron strings 😂
Have a lovely weekend.

Butterfly Sadness

Happy Monday!
What a gorgeous weekend that was!
We sat out on Saturday and had a friend call
to visit on Sunday who we haven't seen for well over a year.
We also had our Son next door and his lovely family round too.
Thank goodness for sunshine!!

My card today is a sad one.
It was made for a family whose daughter committed suicide
and she was only in her second year at university.
So so sad and shocking.

I have used soft lilacs, whites and a bit of black.
The sentiment did not photo well but it was very appropriate.
I added a couple of butterflies, die cut leaves and some pearls.
The background card has been lightly stamped with butterflies.

Items used:
Purple Posy card
