I am in a need of inspiration. The autumn has been too busy and I have felt rather tired, unfortunately. And I have neglected both my blog and my crochet, sorry.
Nature is a fabulous place for recovery, me and my family has spent the day on Gräsö, a small island outside Öregrund two hours drive north of Stockholm.

Finally my crocheted work of art is completed! I call it samtid:pektid, in english it would be something like contemporary:pointingtime.

It consists of two pieces which communicate with each other. The black fabric with a delicate black crocheted lace covers three lines of words. This piece is a reply to the purple.
Those are the pattern for the seventh crochet turn in the lace (that might be the proper word for a “varv” is swedish).
The purple lace is distorted, disrupted and, perhaps, mad.

I have taken a day off from work to write an article about art museum and the webb for the Swedish organisation Konstfrämjandet and the project about art education Konstbildning.
Torhild writes about art and the webb
Today, everyone relates to the webb in one or another way. The art museums do too. But how? My main concern is how the museums use the web and, as I believe, the opportunity to narrow the distance between art and people.
Tate in London is the leading museum in presenting art on the Internet. I just love their videos! I now know a lot of the exhibition about the late Turner, just by watching the short film on the Tate site.
Tate has of course inspired me when I have produced my own videos about art, on the You tube-channel Torhild Konst.
