Fun With Paverplast!

Let's have some fun with Paverpol's Paverplast!

 

We got to have some fun with 2 Paverpol products that I

have not used before...Paverplast and Paversand.

This month we received a box containing a few items to create with...think of the food

show Chopped...we got Paverpol transparent, the plast, 

sand, some Paver powder and form...then we get to create something using the products.

I chose to cut my form so that I could have a flat back piece.

Mixing 500g of transparent PP and 100g of PP Plast I created a stiff mixture

to cover the form with..I saved an old bucket to mix and store the

compound in.

I wanted to add the sand in as well as some of the PaverColor so

I put it in a smaller container so I could get the consistancy where I wanted it.

The PaverColor turned it gray rather than antique gold...

so I think I messed up adding it in at that point.

I covered the half form with my mixture...since I wanted it to look more like

a dress, I left the long lines in it.

I left it to dry for almost 2 days, then started to paint.

I used 4 different shades of gold. It is hard to get that in a photo but

in person you can see the different shimmers.

After that dried for a half day I added black...wiping most of it off.

 

While the form was drying I started on my canvas.

Taking a 12 x 16 canvas I used PP Cotton and transparent PP

to attach to the canvas.

 

 I used some gold sprays to add some color to the cotton.

Using transparent PP I attached it to the canvas.

The picture of the wings turned out horrible...but using a printed copy of digital

wings with a piece of plastic over it I "drew" the wings with

PP in a bottle and before drying I added glitter and PP Color.

I also added 2 scriptures about Angels.

This is my last Halloween post. I swear.

So if you have seen the other projects I have created lately using Paverpol,

you can see why this was the next logical step...

first the hands...then a foot...so it is just a hop to a head!

My husband was worried about this one....

I started out with a foam head...taking a chunk out of it for effect.

I added a strip of material after soaking it in grey Paverpol.

Let it dry for a few day to make sure it would take well.

I soaked a T-shirt in flesh and grey PP.

When I first pulled it out I still had some white patches...so I really

soaked it.

 Around the eyes I had a few air pockets so I did poke a few small holes

to get it to lay flatter.

I started to build up my wound by adding

transparent PP, some yellow ochre and bronze PP powder, flower soft, bits

of cork, bits of mica and paint. Then drew/colored the eyes.

Using the same stuff I worked on the "chopped" of part of the head.

I used cork to make the bone.

I bought some eye lashes and a wig....

 Added lots of paint for my bloody areas and a bit of transparent PP to give it the wet look.

Paverpol Pumpkin Jars

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today with my newest Paverpol project. I am really enjoying working with Paverpol and discovering  the wide variety of projects I can create.  As we head towards Halloween, it's time to start decorating.

I found some Bell Jars and decided to use Paverpol Fleshtone for my project, so I poured some into a plastic bowl.

 

I added some Terracotta Paver Color and mixed it in the Paverpol.

 

 

Next I tore strips of paper and dunked them in the mix.

Pulling the strips of paper from the Paverpol, I removed the excess and wrapped the strips around the jars.  I created texture by leaving some lumps and bumps in the paper as I wrapped the strips around the jars.

 

I continued adding Paverpol until the jars were covered.  Then I used a paint brush to add additional Paverpol around the jars until the jars looked like Terracotta.  I then placed them aside to dry.

I'm loving the texture.  Once dry, I added a bit of black paint to each and then wiped off the excess.  Then I used left over scraps of Makin's Clay® to create faces for the pumpkins.

Finally I glued yarn around the caps and added pumpkin handles created from Makin's Clay®.

These jars are perfect Halloween decorations.

Hi!

I am going to show you a mermaid

I created using not only Paverpol the hardener but

Paverpol's Art Stone.

 I went to visit my sister in Florida a few years ago and

came back with a few pieces of driftwood SOOO when

I thought I would create something with a mermaid

I figured this was the perfect time to use one the wood pieces!

 I actually added some PP to seal it and then sprinkled some

sand on top as well.

Once that dried I started on my mermaid.

I used a thicker wire, wrapped some aluminum foil and masking tape

and then coated her with t-shirt strips dipped in a cambo

of flesh and bronze PP.

(sorry I was making her while watching TV and forgot to get pics of that stage)

Since I had received my container of ART STONE (YEAH!)

I decided to try it out.

I added some grey PP mixed with a bit of red Paver color powder and 

"painted" her tail with it.

While still wet I added the art stone BUT wanted a mix of colors

so I just started dotting and dabbing a few powder Paver Colors.

The only thing I was worried about was once I got it the color I wanted

and the powder mixed in, it still had a dusty feel to it.

So I added transparent PP, but that took some of the pops of color away.

I ended up trying some yarn for hair...gotta work on perfecting that! 

 I think it still turned out pretty cool looking.

Trial and error, that's my middle name!
