Ubuntu MATE

A community developed <a href="http://www.ubuntu.com/" rel="nofollow">Ubuntu</a> based operating system that beautifully integrates the <a href="http://mate-desktop.org" rel="nofollow">MATE</a> desktop. This funding campaign has a few objectives:  <ul>
<li>Fund the development of Ubuntu MATE and MATE Desktop via financial rewards to contributors and developers of either project.</li><li>Help subsidise the travel expenses of team members to represent <a href="http://mate-desktop.org/" rel="nofollow">MATE Desktop</a> and <a href="https://ubuntu-mate.org/" rel="nofollow">Ubuntu MATE</a> at FLOSS conferences.</li><li>Fund the Ubuntu MATE project's domain name registrations, transactional email service, and web application firewall.</li>
<li>Support other Open Source projects and developers that Ubuntu MATE depends upon. </li>
</ul>Patrons will be rewarded with exclusive project news, updates and invited to an exclusive Telegram channel where you can talk to the developers directly. Thanks to the generous support of our Patrons the MATE Desktop and Ubuntu MATE development has enjoyed significant momentum in recent years delivering features such as: <ul><li>On going funding of upstream MATE Desktop core development team</li><li>Development of MATE Dock Applet</li><li>Development of Ubuntu MATE Welcome and Software Boutique</li><li>Creation of new icon themes</li><li>Complete port of MATE Desktop to GTK3+</li><li>Global Menu support</li><li>Migration of all Ubuntu MATE themes to GTK 3.22</li><li>Creation of scaled assets in the Ubuntu MATE themes as a pre-cursor to HiDPI support</li><li>HiDPI implementation in MATE Desktop</li><li>Implementation of hardware assisted compositing in Marco, the window manager</li><li>Development of Notification Center and "do not disturb"</li><li>Development of Magnus; a screen magnifier for visual impaired computer users</li><li>On going maintenance of the default Ubuntu MATE theme.</li><li>Development of invisible window corners in Marco to make resizing windows easier</li></ul> Go on, be brilliant, help grow our community.
