The website Overheard in New York has provided hours of endless entertainment for those looking to tantalize the mind and tickle the funny bone with all manner of quotations overheard throughout the course of daily living.

01. All quotes must have been overheard by you and you alone. We aren't interested in friend-of-a-friend accounts.
02. Quotes must have been overheard throughout the course of real life. This means no chat logs or dialogues found online.
03. Please do not quote yourself. You might think it's the best rhetoric that's ever been spoken; but for our sakes, let someone else decide that for you.
04. If the quote may be offensive in some way, please employ the use of a cut.
05. Quotes that are controversial are more than welcome, but remember to play nice.
06. Any instance of unnecessary asshattery and you will be removed.
