Valentine cards & boxes & Mojo 226

Here are 2 more valentine cards and boxes I made for my granddaughters.

The 1st card I made was inspired by the Mojo Monday Challenge blog.  Here is the sketch:

I chose to make the square card.  Papers are by Heidi Grace and the striped paper is on the reverse side of the paper on top. I punched the sentiment (SU) on a scallop square which was popped up.  The crocheted flowers are from my stash as is the ribbon, heart charm (made with love) and the flat maroon pearls.  I heat embossed the SU heart and punched it out with a heart punch from Marvy which is just the right size for the heart stamp.  My card size is 4 1/2 x 4 1/2.  This card will be going to one of my granddaughters.

Here is another card I made today for another one of my granddaughters:

Needless to say, I love this SU stamp. I heat embossed it and the centre heart is on the inside.  I punched out a heart on the cover of the card, distressed the edges with rose red ink from Versa,  added some flat clear rhinestones and the heart ribbon is from Michaels.

I also made some treat boxes for the girls:  

I watched this tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers.  The boxes did not take very long to make.  I used a MS heart punch, ribbon and flat back pearls. The card stock is Cherry Cobbler from SU (love this colour!).  I plan to fill the boxes with some Hershey Kisses.

Brooke (4 1/2; Amber 15 mos. & Sierra 6 1/2)

This picture was taken in the summer. They sure keep their parents hopping! They were all sick last week but are all feeling better now.  I will be taking some paper craft supplies to their house on Saturday so the 2 oldest (Sierra & Brooke) can make some valentine cards.  I've got valentine stickers, glittery heart foam stickers and ink and sentiments.  I expect we will have loads of fun!

Mojo Monday 189 - CONTEST

First of all, I want to wish all the Mothers out there a very Happy Mother's Day!!  I hope you all get pampered and spoiled rotten!

I don't know about the rest of the people who entered this challenge, but this particular sketch was very challenging for me.  The card I made did not turn out at all like I had planned in my head after seeing the sketch earlier this week.  In fact, my card went on an entirely different direction!

I didn't care for it at first, but it has grown on me.  The image is from Darcie's, & since I stamped it on yellow cardstock, I just coloured the heart, feet and beak with Prismacolor pencils. The designer paper is from Imaginisce - Enchanted Collection.  The sentiment is from Kraftin Kimmies - Shy Emmielou.  I also used a Spellbinder's tag that I cut and embossed in my Cuttlebug that the sentiment was stamped on.  The border punch I used is from Martha Stewart.

Opa & I will be heading out to visit our daughter Janice, son-in-law Rob and our 3  adorable granddaughters, Sierra, Brooke and Amber.  I can't wait to give the girls their Easter/Spring baskets I made for them and the Spring cards I made for them.  I'm sure my daughter will like the card I made especially for her.  Have a great day everyone & I'll be back later to share some a card my niece Krista made for me as well as another card that I have made and some goodies that I received in the mail.

I'm in deep Doodoo!

I bought my 5 yr. granddaughter Sierra a Friendship Bracelet kit.  I don't think my Daughter appreciated it very much cuz now she has made up a new house rule:

I have a feeling I will be spending time with Sierra on Christmas Day when I give her the scrapbook album kit I got for her and I also got one for 3 yr. Brooke.  You can see the album kits I bought for them here.  The sales lady in the store said she got one for her 7 yr. old niece and it took them 2 hours to make up the album.  I showed it to my daughter and she loved it.  She scrapbooks and has made a lot of pages.  She will be on maternity leave for a year beginning in late October and is looking forward to spending time with the girls and the new baby who will be joining them soon.

I got the albums at this store which is in St. Jacob's.  Opa and I went there yesterday.  We got some fresh veggies, homemade bread, home made baked goods (date squares and nanaimo bars) and I also bought myself 2 pullover sweaters and 2 pair of corduroy pants at the outlet mall.

Trick or treat!

TRICK OR TREAT!!

Opa and I went trick or treating last night with Brooke the poodle (age 2) and Sierra the butterfly (age 4) last night. We didn't go to a lot of houses but the girls enjoyed it. Their Daddy also accompanied us.
