Northway has reached Financial Close with the NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) for the Warkworth to Te Hana project, a section of Ara Tūhono, which forms part of the Northland Corridor. The project will deliver a new four-lane motorway between Warkworth and Te Hana, improving safety, resilience and journey reliability on a critical transport corridor connecting Auckland and Northland. Northway comprises ACCIONA and Aberdeen Investments as equity sponsors and investors, with ACCIONA responsible for the design, construction, maintenance and operation of the motorway. The project is being delivered in partnership with the NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi and Hōkai Nuku under a long-term public-private partnership model. We look forward to working closely with mana whenua, local communities, stakeholders and industry partners to successfully deliver this nationally significant infrastructure project." Derek Robertson, NZTA’s Northland Corridor Programme Director thanked everyone involved in the project and all the work to get us here today. “The project is a key connector and of strategic importance to the regional and national economy and it is good to see this work get underway” Nicola Rata-MacDonald MNZM, Chair of Hōkai Nuku, said, “When infrastructure is delivered in true partnership with mana whenua, it creates opportunities that extend well beyond the road itself.
