  • As shipping decarbonizes, data is becoming just as important as capital.💡 In this edition of Partner Perspectives, Veracity's Yuko Aoyama speaks with Christian Bonfils, Founder and Chairman of OceanPass, on how trusted emissions data is helping banks make more informed financing decisions. As sustainability becomes an increasingly important part of shipping finance, banks need more than annual reports – they need timely, trusted insights they can use to assess risk, monitor portfolios and support better lending decisions. In just 5 minutes, Christian shares: 🔹 Why banks are becoming increasingly data-driven and the challenges they face with emissions reporting today 🔹 How OceanPass and Veracity are bringing DNV-verified emissions data into financial decision-making 🔹 Why trusted, verified data is essential for creating confidence and going beyond compliance into new commercial gains. 🎥 Watch the full conversation below.

  • We've always believed that the smartest compliance strategy isn't reactive. It's built on a trusted, connected data foundation that serves as a single source of truth across evolving regulations. That's exactly why, when the UK Emissions Trading Scheme (UK ETS) came into force for maritime on 1 July, we were ready - meaning our customers were too. From day one, Emissions Connect has supported verified UK ETS statements alongside EU ETS, FuelEU Maritime and IMO CII through the same familiar workflow. We've also extended Voyage Leg Verification (VLV) to UK ETS, allowing UK-related voyage legs to be validated before they're included in final statements. Through the Veracity Data Workbench, customers can securely access and reuse their verified UK ETS data across their own systems and workflows. The regulatory landscape will continue to evolve. The key is having a trusted data foundation that evolves with it. Tune in to the DNV's latest #MaritimeImpact podcast, where Eirik Nyhus explains what UK ETS means for shipowners in practice - from reporting requirements and cost exposure, to the wider implications for the industry and how DNV is equipped and ready to help. 🎧 Listen to the full episode in the comments.

  • AI is only as powerful as the data behind it.💡 That's the key message from our latest Partner Perspectives conversation with Kongsberg Maritime. As AI becomes increasingly embedded in maritime software and operations, the conversation is shifting from not just what AI can do, but more importantly what it needs to succeed. For Anders Bryhni, Senior VP Digital Ocean, that starts with trusted, standardized data. Speaking with Veracity's Executive Director, Mikkel Skou, Anders shared how Kongsberg Maritime is using AI to improve software development, standardize data and embed AI assistants into its solutions - all with the goal of creating simpler, more efficient experiences for customers. It's a perspective that closely aligns with our partnership, where we're enabling the secure, standardized exchange of Operational Vessel Data (OVD) between Kongsberg Maritime's digital fleet management solution and the Veracity platform. By building on common data standards and secure digital pipelines, we're helping reduce complexity and give shipowners and operators a trusted data foundation they can use across digital assurance services, operational insights and future AI-driven applications. • Join us in welcoming OceanPass to the Veracity Partner Program - one of the first of our solution partners dedicated to bringing DNV-verified maritime data into banking and sustainable shipping finance. 🌍 Through this partnership, DNV-verified vessel data can now flow directly from Veracity into OceanPass, bringing trusted, continuously verified data directly into financing and commercial decision-making. By combining verified vessel data with portfolio intelligence, OceanPass helps banks move beyond annual reporting cycles and make more informed lending, risk management and sustainability decisions throughout the year. 🌊 The benefits: 🔹Trusted, DNV-verified emissions data integrated directly into OceanPass 🔹More timely insights for sustainable shipping finance 🔹Confidence in Poseidon Principles reporting and portfolio monitoring 🔹A stronger foundation for data-driven lending and commercial decisions 🌊 The backing: "Reliable, standardized data is what lets us align and de-risk our portfolio in line with the transition, but today we typically receive it a year or more after the reporting period closes. A single system that standardizes and verifies "live" data across the industry could be a step change for lenders and one we should explore further." – Paul Taylor, Chair, Poseidon Principles Read more about the partnership via the link in the comments. 👇

  • As emissions reporting requirements continue to grow across the maritime industry, so does the complexity of collecting, validating and exchanging data between owners, operators, charterers, verifiers and regulators. That's why we're pleased to support the Tripartite Joint Industry Working Group (JIWG) industry consultation on the development of a common digital approach to maritime emissions data reporting. The ambition is to create a globally harmonized framework for emissions data exchange that reduces fragmentation, improves data quality and enables information to be reported once and used many times. Built on open standards and aligned with the IMO Compendium, the proposed framework uses DNV's Operational Vessel Data (OVD) standard as its baseline. OVD has been used across the maritime industry for many years to exchange log abstracts and other operational vessel data, making it a proven foundation for further industry alignment. Coordinated by BIMCO, The JIWG is now inviting feedback from across the maritime ecosystem to help ensure the framework reflects operational realities and works across different regulations, vessel types and use cases. We're also pleased to be co-hosting the Industry Consultation Workshop during SMM Hamburg on 2 September 2026 (10:00-13:30), where we'll introduce the proposed framework and continue the discussion. 📄 Submit your feedback or register for the workshop: https://lnkd.in/errWjeJp

  • The future of maritime compliance isn't about keeping up with regulations. It's about building a data foundation that keeps up for you. From 1 July, the UK Emissions Trading Scheme (UK ETS) expands to maritime, joining a growing landscape that already includes EU ETS, FuelEU Maritime, IMO DCS, EU MRV, CII and the upcoming IMO Net-Zero Framework. As every new framework is introduced, one thing becomes increasingly clear: shipping companies don't need another disconnected reporting process. They need a trusted data foundation that can support them across all of them. At Veracity by DNV, we believe the future lies in connected, assured data flows. Through Veracity's ecosystem of more than 90 data and solution partners, with connectivity to the majority of the world's fleet, shipowners can build a trusted, DNV-verified data foundation that supports today's reporting requirements while remaining ready for whatever comes next. The result is more than regulatory reporting. It's trusted emissions data that can be reused across compliance, commercial settlements, financing, carbon markets, analytics and the next generation of AI-powered maritime services. • Did you know AI-generated phishing emails are over 4× more likely to be clicked than phishing emails written by humans?💡This is because AI has fundamentally changed the cybersecurity landscape - lowering the barrier for cybercriminals to launch more sophisticated attacks at scale, while making it increasingly difficult to distinguish genuine communication from malicious activity. As many head off for summer, these cyber risks can become even more pronounced. Smaller teams, altered routines and less vigilance create more opportunities for attackers. So before you switch on your out-of-office, here are a few cybersecurity reminders to take with you: ✅ Use phishing-resistant multi-factor authentication (MFA) or passkeys wherever possible ✅ Think twice before trusting unexpected emails, texts or AI-generated messages ✅ Be cautious of QR codes ("quishing") in airports, hotels and public places ✅ Never paste confidential company information into public AI tools ✅ Use an approved VPN when accessing work from hotels, cafés or airports ✅ Keep software and devices updated before you travel ✅ Keep your out-of-office message helpful, but be cautious of the details that you share ✅ If something feels unusual, verify through another channel before clicking, downloading or replying ✅ If you think you've clicked something suspicious, report it immediately. Early reporting helps security teams investigate, contain threats and protect others. Here's to switching off, recharging, and returning refreshed, with your accounts and data just as secure as when you left. Happy Holidays to all!☀️
