Something is moving in the water. And the fish usually know first. This week, the Institute of Marine Research (IMR), Norway advised fish farmers in Southern Norway and Rogaland to stay alert if fish start changing behaviour, following increased concentrations of Pseudochattonella along the Skagerrak coast. Can you read a fish’s body language? 🐟 There's no eye contact. No small talk. No “hey, I’m feeling a bit off today.” For a long time, behaviour has been something we observe and learn through experience. But measuring it precisely and objectively? That’s been much harder. 𝐒𝐚𝐲 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨 𝐭𝐨 𝐆𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡. 👋  A project exploring how fish body language can be measured objectively using OptoScale cameras and AI – helping us better understand fish welfare.
