Skriptr, the team that almost got kicked out of university! After experiencing first hand how AI can get you in trouble with academic papers, this crew flipped the problem into an opportunity. Fresh out of two years at NTNUs Entreprenørskole, they're now building an AI workspace for higher education. Skriptr has spent all summer on this floor, and now they've made Founders Hub their official home. Their biggest launch yet is coming later in August 👀 Welcome to the hub - great to have you here 🔥 Preben Andersen // Rolf Erling Bekkelund // Erlend Borsholm // Casper Kristoffersen // Jonas Andersen // Pia Engemoen Aasland

While Norway went on summer holiday, our builders stayed inside. One of them just shipped something cool 🚀 Congrats on the launch, Abdellatif!

13 of Europe's communities sent teams above the Arctic Circle. Ours came back with the ElevenLabs win. Melvin, Albin, Oliver pulled it off. Congratulations guys! 👊🏼 Thanks to Sunstead Hack for putting this on! 🌅
We just won the Sunstead Hackathon! Thanks to Founders Hub. Albin Hasanaj, Oliver Söderlund Granzer and I were able to compete against 13 of Europe's best communities, around 90 hand-picked builders, 25 nationalities, above the Arctic Circle. We won the ElevenLabs challenge and were asked by alot of people if they could try what we built. So we're shipping the full version soon... This hackathon was something different, thanks to: Junction, Kiuas, Founders House Helsinki, Slush, ElevenLabs, Aiven, Tangled, Lovable, Vercel, EQT Ventures & Growth, Maki.vc, OpenOcean, Anthropic, and all the people! 🌅 It will be hard to top the kind of conversations and friends I made during the hackathon. // </sailors>

Andreas Staune-Mittet has taken over as Head of Founders Hub. He comes from years in elite sport, where what decides how good you get is rarely the talent alone, but the environment around you. That is the same thing we are building here, and it is exactly why he is the right person to lead it. One of the first things we are doing now is taking the hub from 25 to 40 seats. We are expanding the floor, but we are not lowering the bar. If anything, the bar is going up. The first five months proved the model works, and the next year is where the real building starts, on a foundation laid by Trond Haugå, Erik Nymo Bohne, Mikael Steenbuch and Anders Mjåset. Five Founders Hub highlights from the first period... 👀 • Native reached 2000 customers and $2M ARR, 3 months after launch. • Mimir raised a pre-seed and grew out of the hub in May. • Ara (YC P26) got into Y Combinator's spring batch, and another stealth startup got into the YC summer batch. • Astar pulled off a national championship in AI with 3300 participants. This is only a fraction of what's happened, and there's more to share. But first, we have a big announcement next week. The first 5 months at the hub have been strong, but we're nowhere near its potential. We have a plan, and a key piece launches early next week. Stay tuned! Ara (YC P26) is the self-driving IDE. The bottleneck in development keeps moving. It used to be writing the code. Then agents solved that, and it became reviewing the code. Now what's left is planning the next step, and every IDE still waits. Ara closes the loop. It proactively plans your next step, handing you proposals you can discard or send off to follow up on, with self-improving memory across all your tools and sessions, and full visibility across chats, files, browsers, terminals, and review panes. Founders Adi S. and Sven Myhre both studied EECS at UC Berkeley. Adi worked in applied ML at Scale AI and previously built an IDE company. Sven was an ML engineer on production systems and chaired Norway's largest student AI org. Serial hackathon winners, they've built and lived together across four cities and dropped out to build the IDE they always wanted. The goal is an IDE that runs the development loop end-to-end, not one that waits for instructions. Download Ara for macOS at https://ara.so. Congrats on the launch, Adi and Sven! https://lnkd.in/g5k2Mp7s

Ambitious Nordic AI Founders, VC with AI postgrad and a proper scandi breakfast. You can go deep. This weekend I had the pleasure of hosting Chris S., the new European face of Andreessen Horowitz, and Founders Hub. We talked about how AI will create a world of abundance; and in the nordics we are building. Kudos to Anders Falsen Habostad for excellent waffles! and to Christina S., Ingrid Kindem, Abdellatif Abdelfattah, David Harket, Marius Maaland, Benjamin Bekken Trond Haugå (breakfast image) for making it brilliant! 😄

What do American investors and orcas have in common? Both find the nordics amazing. After surfing in 4 degree water, getting roasted in the sauna (in all the ways), and watching an eagle catch fish, I get why they come here; The ecosystem is buzzing. Last week alone: Anthropic invited to dinner on Tuesday, Mesh Community trip to Lofoten on Wednesday, and Andreessen Horowitz / Founders Hub breakfast on Saturday. I ate 4+ waffles next to Chris S. (the new European face of A16Z (he looked worried)). If a buzzing ecosystem means more bacon and hot tubs I'm all for it. Huge kudos to Anders, Aya and the rest of the Mesh team for fixing a great trip, and to Christian ++ for the breakfast. The best images taken by Rune Svenningsen, orca pic stolen from Mattias Miksche, and breakfast photo from yours truly (no AI used 😱)!

On Tuesday we had Stephan von Perger from Anthropic visiting Oslo and Founders Hub 🔥 Anthropic is collaborating with FH and there's more stuff coming up in the future. We gave him a tour of FH, showing the incredible founders coming out of Oslo right now. The night ended with a curated, invite-only dinner with great conversations about what everyone is building, what's working, and where AI is headed. Around the table: Marius Maaland from Drippa Simon Archer Dreyer from Ask Poppy Christina S. (currently building something in stealth 👀) Oscar H. from Paralov Abyl Ikhsanov from Volve and robert sinke! Huge thanks to Stephan and the Anthropic team for making this happen. Oslo's founder scene is booming🔥
