  • Together with our subsidiary Mackley and in partnership with Brighton & Hove City Council, we have successfully completed the first beach nourishment pump as part of the Brighton Marina to River Adur Coastal Scheme – Phase 2. This milestone marks the beginning of a significant phase of the UK project. Our trailing suction hopper dredger Vox Apolonia successfully delivered the first load of shingle to strengthen the beach profile and help reduce coastal flood risk for Brighton and the surrounding areas. The works will safeguard local communities and infrastructure from the impacts of coastal erosion and flooding. We are proud to be delivering this vital climate-resilience project. #MarineIngenuity #CoastalProtection #CoastalResilience #Dredging

  • ⚓ Building the future of offshore wind takes more than powerful vessels Together with Ecowende, we're proud to share a glimpse of what it takes to deliver one of the Netherlands' most ambitious offshore wind projects. Onboard Boreas, Superintendent Kevin Visbeen helps lead one of the most critical aspects of offshore wind construction by delivering complex offshore operations safely, efficiently and on schedule. His story offers a behind-the-scenes look at the people who make large-scale energy projects possible. As one of the world's most advanced offshore installation vessels, Boreas is purpose-built for the next generation of offshore wind. With its exceptional lifting capacity, methanol-fuel capability and advanced emission-reduction technologies, the vessel combines performance with a lower environmental footprint. At Van Oord, we believe that progress offshore is driven by the combination of people, innovation and collaboration. Working alongside partners like Ecowende, we're helping accelerate the energy transition while contributing to a future where renewable energy and nature can thrive together. 👇Watch the video to meet Kevin and discover the expertise behind offshore wind installation at sea. #OffshoreWind #EnergyTransition #RenewableEnergy #OffshoreConstruction #Sustainability

  • On board the Calypso, Master Ivo de Heij sees the energy transition from a global perspective. Having spent 25 years at Van Oord and worked across dredging and offshore projects worldwide, he has witnessed remarkable advances in technology. But the challenge he sees today is not building the solutions, it is aligning behind them. For Ivo, the energy transition will only succeed when the urgency to reduce our ecological footprint is matched by collective action across borders. While many of the solutions are already in place, progress will remain limited if countries, industries, and societies continue to move at different speeds. What do you think is the biggest barrier to accelerating the energy transition: technology, policy, or global commitment? 📷 This portrait is part of a series by photographer and filmmaker Kadir van Lohuizen. We are pleased to announce a long-term partnership with TMA Logistics, securing dedicated terminal space in the Port of Amsterdam to support our offshore operations for years to come. As offshore projects continue to grow in scale and complexity, having reliable access to quay and storage facilities in one location is essential. This agreement provides Van Oord with a dedicated base for vessels such as Boreas and Aeolus providing all necessary required services and support during their project executions. By combining vessel access, mission equipment storage, and operational support at a single location, we can further improve efficiency across our supply chain and project execution. This partnership reflects our commitment to building a resilient and efficient operational network that supports the delivery of offshore energy projects and contributes to the energy transition. #OffshoreWind #EnergyTransition #Maritime #OffshoreOperations #Sustainability #RenewableEnergy

  • 𝗔 𝗺𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮’𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲⚓ Kamarajar Port Limited has become the second major port in India with an operational draft of 18 metres, enabling it to accommodate fully laden Capesize vessels of up to 170,000 DWT (deadweight tonnage). Van Oord is proud to have contributed to this achievement by executing the capital dredging works for Kamarajar Port Limited, deepening the access channel and port area to support the port’s transformation into a Cape Compliant gateway. The enhanced draft capability will help increase cargo-handling efficiency, lower logistics costs through economies of scale, and strengthen the competitiveness of India’s growing international trade. Congratulations to the port of Kamarajar on this important step in developing future-ready port infrastructure. #MaritimeInfrastructure #PortDevelopment #Dredging #India #Trade #Shipping

  • A major milestone for the future accessibility of the Port of Rotterdam With the successful completion of the first phase of the Yangtze Canal widening project, the Port of Rotterdam is taking another important step towards accommodating growing vessel traffic and larger container ships. As part of the contractor consortium with Hakkers and De Klerk Werkendam, Van Oord is proud to play a key role in both phases of this strategic project. Our expertise in dredging and  construction of sustainable maritime infrastructure is shaping safer and more efficient access to Maasvlakte 2 while supporting the future growth of the port. The first phase of the project is complete, delivering a new tugboat quay with 12 berths and shore power facilities. Together with our partners, we are already executing phase two which consists of the construction of 1,450 metres of quay wall, 20 new inland shipping berths, and the widening of the navigation channel to accommodate the next generation of container vessels. As a longstanding partner of the Port of Rotterdam, Van Oord continues to support the development of its maritime infrastructure, helping ensure the port remains ready for the increasing scale and demands of global shipping. • Clean energy above the water, more biodiversity below it Van Oord has completed the rock installation works for Ecowende’s Hollandse Kust West offshore wind farm. Our vessels, Bravenes and Nordnes, installed a total of 300,000 tonnes of rock, protecting turbine foundations and critical cable infrastructure. A key milestone was the successful stabilisation of all cable protection systems and the installation of eco-rock berms, including rocks up to 450 kg, the largest ever installed by an SRI vessel. This achievement sets a new benchmark for combining critical infrastructure protection with marine biodiversity enhancement. Together with Ecowende, we developed nature-inclusive scour protection that supports both infrastructure resilience and marine biodiversity. The design incorporates ecological bays, habitat-forming crevices, and varied rock sizes to create habitats for marine life. The works form part of Van Oord's wider scope on the Hollandse Kust West project, including the transport and installation of foundations and wind turbines, and the installation of inter-array cables. Adding to this achievement, the wind farm has already started producing electricity, showcasing how renewable energy generation and nature enhancement can go hand in hand. We're proud to contribute to what is set to become one of the most ecological offshore wind farms yet. Curious about the project?
