"𝘞𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘥 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘻𝘰𝘯𝘦?" It wasn't an interview question I expected, and that's exactly why I still remember it. It made me stop and reflect on how I approach new situations, challenges and uncertainty. Looking back, I realise it captured something that's deeply rooted in Picnic's culture. You're encouraged to think independently, challenge assumptions and never settle for "good enough". The people around you are constantly raising the bar, not to make things harder, but to help everyone make better decisions. What surprised me most after joining was how accurately the interview reflected the job itself. In my role, every marketing campaign, budget allocation and media plan is discussed, challenged and refined. You're expected to explain your thinking, question your own assumptions and stay open to better ideas. It can be demanding, but it's also one of the reasons the learning curve is so steep. If you're considering applying but feel intimidated by the hiring process, I'd say this: embrace it. Every conversation gives you a better understanding of how Picnic works and the people you'll be working with. By the end of my interviews, I wasn't just hoping to get the job, I was genuinely excited to join the team. - Mélisande Cavan If you're looking for a place where talented people challenge your thinking and help you grow every day, we'd love to meet you.

Over ons
At Picnic, we’re a team of inventors, builders, dreamers, and best-in-class operators! With our app-only business model and custom-built in-house supply chain, we're revolutionizing the way people buy groceries and eat every day. We're growing across the Netherlands, Germany, France, and beyond. One of the things that makes Picnic different is that we handle almost everything ourselves: from forecasting and building automated warehouses to designing custom electric vehicles and writing our own software. It gives us total freedom to experiment with bold, new ideas (which we do a lot!). We love to challenge ourselves and learn by doing. The best way to grow here? By taking ownership from day one and pushing boundaries every single day. As a diverse team of over 85 nationalities, there’s always something happening - whether you’re into sports, board games, charity work, dancing at our legendary Picnic festival, or licorice tasting (yes, really!). Our scale-up culture means you get to own your work and bring fresh ideas to life. If you’re looking to make a real impact, reach out. We’d love to hear from you!

Ditch the boring online training courses, here we learn from the best. We asked our French colleagues: what does learning look like at Picnic? Answer: it can start anywhere. 🥗 𝗖𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝘆𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗣𝗶𝗰𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗮𝗽𝗽? Noémie organised a learning session for our Meals team with a culinary stylist, giving the team the opportunity to learn directly from an expert. 🤖 𝗪𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗔𝗜 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘄𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸? Gianluca launched weekly AI Talks to share knowledge, discover new tools and explore how AI can be used in our day-to-day work. In the latest session, we explored how AI will help us improve our 2026 Christmas assortment and optimise supplier commitment quantity forecasts. 💻 Need to learn a new skill to solve a problem? Our teams have learned SQL and Google Sheets along the way, and even organise hackathons to support specific projects, with everyone pitching in to learn and solve problems together. 🍺 Want to know more about what your colleagues do? Our monthly Learn & Apéro sessions hosted by David give Picnicers the opportunity to share their work, expertise and projects with colleagues. The best learnings don't always come from a formal training programme. Often, the expertise is sitting right across from you! Because when you're surrounded by curious people, learning happens every day. 🌱 What would you like to learn from the talented people around you?

Our Fulfilment Center controllers had access to more data than ever. 🤖 Turns out that wasn't the problem. The real issue was figuring out what mattered right now, out of everything happening at once. A few things we noticed: 1. Controllers often couldn't tell if they'd made the best call 2. Nothing showed the full list of what still needed attention. Small issues could grow before anyone noticed 3. If a controller stepped away for 30 minutes, it could cause problems hours later So we built something we're calling the Intelligent Control Room. The architecture, the trade-offs, and where we're headed next (think digital twins and reinforcement learning) are all in our latest blog written by the expert herself, Leah Bekkering. Antonia's 3 key learnings as a Graduate Business Manager at Picnic 🍎 "When I kicked off my career as a Graduate Business Manager at Picnic, I knew I was entering a dynamic environment. But I could have never guessed just how steep and rewarding the learning curve would actually be! Reflecting on my journey so far, here are my 3 main takeaways: 1️⃣ Real responsibility from day one Unlike typical graduate programs, Picnic throws you right into the action. I owned my own projects from the start and was empowered to make real decisions rather than just observe. Taking on early ownership can feel intense, but I always felt fully supported by my team. 2️⃣ My Voice Matters Flat hierarchies aren’t just a buzzword here. My ideas were welcomed from day one, and I was given the freedom to run initiatives that directly impact millions of customers, which is incredibly rewarding! 3️⃣ No day is the same We build, test, and scale based on data, meaning no two days are the same. One day I’m diving into data analysis, the next I’m brainstorming with cross-functional teams, or launching a new campaign. It’s given me a 360-degree view of the business alongside people who genuinely love what they do." We just had another graduation day, and yes, we're still proud every time. 🥹 In a room with the mentors who've supported them over the past months, including our CTO Daniel Gebler, they take a moment to reflect on their journey and share what they've learned Despite their short time they had plenty to share. From adding recipe characteristic facets within our Consumer domain to optimizing the sequential station supply algorithm in our automated warehouses. Now, it's time to put everything they've learned into practice, and we can't wait to see the bold ideas they'll explore. And who knows? Maybe in just a few years they'll be mentoring the next generation themselves just like Daan Goslinga and Sterre van Doorn. A huge congratulations to Radu Ilia, Grigory Baranov, Boyoung Lee, Ebenezer Shimeles Tesfaye, Mo Zhou, Luis Bustamante, Thomas Sjerps, Calin Ciocanea, Xinyu Jiang!! 🏅 The lessons learned: 1. Make the most of your onboarding. Immerse yourself in the company culture, get to know your fellow junior joiners. 2. Figure out how you learn best. Discover the methods and tools that help you understand new concepts. 3. Stay curious. Explore as many topics as you can and build both strong technical skills and a solid understanding of the business context.

Our model was losing to a popularity baseline. So we rebuilt it. Our recipe recommender was basically tied with or losing to a dead-simple popularity baseline. 🏅 What did we do? 1. We swapped one core architecture for another, and it wasn't a small change 2. We deleted most of our hand-engineered features 3. We let an AI agent run experiments overnight 4. We tested and rolled out across 3 markets in under 2 months 🇳🇱 🇫🇷 🇩🇪 The results?
