Most internships teach you how to make coffee. GetJoin teaches you how to run a project. This International Youth Day, we're not celebrating young people with a hashtag. We're celebrating what happens when you give them the work that matters. Real projects. Real clients. Real mentorship, from day one. Most contract negotiations settle the price. Almost none settle what happens when things need to change. Mike Field, our CFO, argues that's exactly the problem: the real cost of an IT contract often isn't what you agree on day one. It's what happens the day you need something to change. In his article "Your IT budget has a leak", Mike breaks down why rigid contract structures — not inflation — are the hidden driver behind rising IT costs, and what a genuinely flexible model looks like in practice. Mike Field, our CFO, just published something worth reading — and it opens with a claim most finance and IT leaders will recognise instantly: the biggest cost problem in IT isn't inflation. It's contract rigidity. Only 43% of organisations report full visibility across their technology estate (Flexera, 2025). That blind spot is exactly where change orders, escalation clauses, and "flexibility" priced at a new rate quietly add up. Mike talks about why the real differentiator isn't price — it's how a contract is structured from day one, and what that means when your business needs change.

OT and IT converged years ago. Most security strategies haven't caught up. Getronics' Global CISO Joeri Barbier has spent 25+ years closing that gap across manufacturing, energy, and critical infrastructure — and breaks down where it keeps showing up. After 25+ years delivering OT/IT convergence projects across manufacturing, energy, and critical infrastructure, our Global CISO Joeri Barbier has seen where this keeps going wrong. Not the attacker. The mindset. OT and IT don't fail the same way — and defending a converged network with an unconverged mindset is, in Joeri's words, the real risk. He breaks down the gaps security leaders keep underestimating, and why NIS2 isn't the reason to fix them. Read his take: https://lnkd.in/eZSgED7J

Some companies survive one major tech shift. Getronics has survived every single one for the past 135 years. Electrical installations for public infrastructure and shipping. Computer networking. Global IT services. Cloud, UCC and managed services across three continents. The name has changed more than once since 1887 (we became Getronics NV in 1988), but the ability to adapt hasn't. By the early 2000s, key acquisitions turned us into a global IT player. In 2009, we launched the Global Workspace Alliance to serve multinational organisations at scale. Between 2017 and 2020, we expanded cloud, UCC and managed services further across Europe, Asia Pacific and Latin America. Since 2023, backed by Cheyne Capital, we've been building the current chapter of that story. More than 4,000 colleagues, still growing, still delivering smart, secure and sustainable IT services, wherever the next shift takes us.

Resilient organisations are built on the right mix of expertise, trusted partners and shared ambition. With Algorit, we're combining strengths to help businesses cut through complexity and build the kind of resilience that lasts. Thanks to everyone who made this happen. The real work starts now.

1887. That's the year Getronics was founded. Since then, we've navigated the shift from mainframes to cloud, from on-premise to everywhere IT needs to be. Every major technology shift, we've adapted, invested, and evolved alongside it. Today, that same spirit shows up in something new: our website. A clearer view of who we are, what we do, and how we help organisations run their IT with less friction and more confidence. One landmark tower. One seamless entry experience. Jakarta Mori Tower is the first venture in Indonesia from Mori Building Co., Ltd., and one of the country's most prominent office towers. The brief was ambitious: a world-class smart office environment built on health, safety and innovation, with touchless movement for thousands of people every day. Getronics delivered it. We deployed our Integration Hub to bring facial recognition, a mobile app, visitor management, temperature checking and lift destination control into one connected system. Building access control was integrated directly with the lifts, so authorised users move from entry to floor without a single manual checkpoint. All of it aligned with PDPA and GDPR data protection requirements. The result: safer, faster access for 15,000 employees and up to 1,000 guests daily, across a 58-floor landmark tower. This is what smart building access looks like when it's designed to scale. Read the full case study, linked in the first comment.
