Magnificent_Frigatebird - Fregata magnificens

This was the closest I came to the Frigate bird. It was chased by a lot of green parrots. Probably the Rose-ringed Parakeet. There was lots of them. The parakeets did not seem to like having the Frigatebird in the area. Reminded me of gulls and eagles. From what I can tell of the images this is a female as I can spot a white mark on her.

White Doves in Honolulu

There was lots of white doves in Honolulu. They made you think of angels when you saw them in sunlight.

This is a wader I found at KOKO POINT outside Honolulu last August. I have not been able to find which one it is and are hoping somebody can help out. It was alone.

Red Whiskered Bulbul - Pycnonotus jocosus - Rödörad bulbyl

I think this bird had a nest somewhere along the wall as it was flying close to it for a distance. It has the posture of a dancer. :)

A very common bird in Honolulu during summer months. I really loved to watch it as I rarely see any of it´s relatives at home.

It is also known as fairy tern, a very pleasing bird to the eye. I saw it a couple of times and have more images of it, somewhere, in my files. But only in flight images. When I find them I´ll post more.

The Mallard are also to be found in Honolulu. But I can actually see they seem to be a bit different from other mallards I´ve seen. One thing is the bill. On the female it seems to be blue. And the butt is kept higer then usual. Very obvious on the chicks. They usually keep the tail feathers down.

This one seems to be Hawaiian Duck - Anas wyvilliana, a close relative to the Mallard.
Snippet: JustificationThis species qualifies as Endangered because it is inferred to have a very small and fragmented range on a few islands, where wetlands are being lost and degraded, and where hybridisation is slowly reducing the number of pure individuals.

About Pacific Golden Plover on wiki called kolea on the Hawaii islands.snippet:
The breeding habitat of Pacific Golden Plover is Arctic tundra from northernmost Asia into western Alaska. It nests on the ground in a dry open area.
This wader is migratory and winters in south Asia and Australasia. A few winter in California and Hawaii, USA. In Hawaii, the bird is known as the kolea. It is a very rare vagrant to western Europe.
This bird forages for food on tundra, fields, beaches and tidal flats, usually by sight. It eats insects and crustaceans and some berries.

A very common bird in Oahu when I was there in august. This bird has summer plumage of course as it breeds in the arctics.
